All our pictures now seem to have lines across them, this is generally only visible if you zoom in, but you don't have to zoom in very far to get them. Basically the picture is fine apart from thelines.
I have lots of examples if it is of any help.
Up unitl then it was working great, would a firmware install sort it out, or do I have to get yet another new camera.
Any help would be great.

Re:
Ed,
The shutter on your camera has become stuck open. This causes the lines across your pictures. If you take the camera outside or shoot in bright lighting conditions the pictures will come out over exposed. The fix for this problem requires complete disassembly of the camera to access the shutter assembly inside the lens. It is a fairly common issue due to the fact that the shutter is such a delicate component. Check with your manufacturer for warranty support or recalls. If they are unable to help you for free, there are repair providers which you can find online who will repair your camera for a reasonable rate.

My camera has the same problem, it worked fine but now it has terrible white lines on all the pics, but the video works fine, wich makes sense because the shudder has to stay open to film, i filmed about 200 videos all weekend at a car show, taking no pics, so i think for mine the shudder stayed open.

I too would like to know the solution to this question...we are having the identical problem and Sony doesn't seem to know how to fix it. Although, the picture from the DVD player is perfect, the pictures for cable & video games are terrible. Very frustrating!
Hi,
it sounds as if you may have the picture quality set to draft, its worth a check, especially if printing is ok. Does it print colour writing well too or just black, one of the colour inks may have a block or be low, go into printer settings menu and check what print quality its set for.
See if your camera has an ISO setting. If it does, make it a lower setting. 100 is best and move up from there (try to use no higher than 400). The lower the ISO, the more light you will need but your images will be less grainy.
if you take pictures on digital zoom, the picture quality may not be acceptable. Try don’t use digital zoom.
digital zoom is not really zoom, it just enlarge a portion of the image, thus 'simulating' optical zoom. That is why you lose image quality on digital zoom.
If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.
Can't repair by yourself. It's need repair camera machine shutter.
