ZOOM??????? So, I am getting annoyed at my TV because whatever I do, it appears the picture is "zoomed" in. there are pieces of the picter (tv, movie, video game)that is being dut of on top, bottom, and both sides. I have gone through every option offered in the menue, and even changed it to widescreen. It is still messed up in wide screen forma. I have no idea what is going on. Anyone have a solution?

Cannot get full screen picture. seems like I still have a 36 inch tv. It is a 42 inch LG plasma hdtv

It seems like you're expecting a 16:9 ratio picture. If you're sending a 4:3 ratio signal to the TV, you'll get a 4:3 ratio picture. An option would be to use the remote and set the TV to a 16:9 ratio picture, but that'll stretch the picture and make everything look fat. Another option would be to use the remote and zoom in, but that'll chop off the top/bottom of the picture a bit. Either case would be annoying. Some make matters even more annoying, some programs are broadcasted in a 16:9 ratio signal, but the actual picture is really 4:3 ratio. So...... as long as the pictures don't look skinny, fat, or chopped off, just accept it. If you're really that picky, just watch new Blu Ray movies only.

I can't get the zoom to decrease on my tv. is it a problem with the tv, or the cable box?

This is the TV. Look for an aspect ratio or picture size or other wording button on the TV's remote control and READ your TV owner's manual. John

Picture Problems!!! TOSHIBA TP55D80 REAR PROJECTION TV.

Look up your user manual, it sounds like your zoom feature has been activated to the max. I have a Zenith backlit LCD TV and it has a zoom feature you control from your remote. You could open up your on screen menu and find the place to reset the TV to factory settings that should clear up the problem.

The Picture appears to be zoomed in. Cannot figure out how to adjust picture to fit the television

There should be a zoom feature on your remote press that and it will take you to diffrent modes otherwise its got to be in the menu settings of the tv itself.

Thanks

Aspect ratio problems on Samsung LN-S2651D Flat Panel TV

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.

Cant see full picture w/ Vizio 32in HDTV

You would look for a format button on your remote.
Dish Network: bottom left the asterisk "*" button
DirecTV: top left, second from the top labelled "format"
Cable remote: look for format, zoom, or aspect ratio

Pressing this button should scroll you through the options.

Enlarged picture

Maybe it isn't the player, but the Aspect button on your tv remote.. Try it. The TV may be in Zoom mode, most new tvs have it.
