Can I record programmes with a Sky box as the input source? I do not have a tv aerial, just a sky dish.

No, it can only record from its own tuners via an aerial, not from a scart connection..

I have a Panasonic tv model TH 42PZ80B; a Panasinic Blu-Ray dvd model DMP-BD50; a sky box (not as yet HD) and a Sony video SLV-SE 830G. I have a Satellite dish and a normal TV aerial. In the loft I have a...

You need to try and isolate the piece of equipment which is causing the problem.

You've already tried the aerial lead direct to the TV and this is OK.

Disconnect all scart leads and try the RF on its own.

Try the Aerial lead to video, then video to TV.

Try aerial direct to Sky box, then to TV.

Try just connecting the RF out from the Sky box to the TV (no aerial input), can you tune into a good channel 68 picture from the Sky box.

Then Try the VCR to the Sky box (no aerial input), see if you can tune into the VCR and Sky channel.
Hope that helps.......

Sounds like a simple cable issue, have you tried switching out the audio source cable? Or are you running HDMI? if so I would switch out the HDMI cable also.. Hope this helps..

Have samsung dvd sh893m all though followed instructions from both dvd & sky manual cannot get signal from digi box ?

if you have followed the sky instructions and connected the aerial to the sky box first, don't. Always connect the aerial to the digital tuner first as the sky box and any other equipment will reduce the signal strength.

You need an aerial connection between the two units, the aerial will plug into the eye and then the eye into the tv.The cable connects into your sky box in the one marked output 2.You then need to go into service`s on the sky box, select 4,then press 0 1 select, goto rf output and turn on.

No signal on teristeral but able to watch tv through sky

This could be down to several things so sorry if this is long winded but really needed more info from yourself...

Sky gets its signal from the dish mounted on your exterior wall.

your terrestrial signal comes from your terrestrial aerial be it external or internal.

If you do have an aerial cable coming into your property and it is connect to your television. Go into your TV MENU and set it away on Auto Tune if this does not come up with any channels. Try auto tune on your built in Digital tv ie DTV if it has this option...

If neither of these work then you need a new aerial or it needs to be re-aligned.
Personnally I would not bother with a Terrestrial Aerial You already have Sky installed so this will be fine for when the Whole of the UK goes digital. Dont be fobbed off by people telly you that you need a Digital aerial as your sky dish is already Digial anyway.

Hope this Helps

Ive just moved to a house with sky all ready and have not got a clue how to set the thing up. I have a 50in PS-50Q96HD Samsung HDTV Plasma. I have the sky cable and the normal tv cable, what goes were...

first of all you would need to have a Sky HD set top box.

The cables coming into the wall.. you said one was the terrestrial aerial and the other was a sky cable. In order for you to benefit from Sky HD you would need twin cable or two single cable running from your sky dish.(allows you to record a program and watch another etc.

summary:
skyHD box
two feeds coming from your dish,
there is only one place these can go as they are screw on ie F connectors. so they would screw onto input 1 and 2 on the back of the Hd box.
Run a HDMI cable from the back of the sky box from the HDMI port to one of the HDMI ports on the back of your telly. last but not least you would need to get a power cable (kettle plug) to power the thing.

In regards to your terrestrial aerial you can plug this directly into your telly or via your aerial in port on the back of the skyHD box. then you would have to run an aerial cable from the RF out 1 or 2 to the back of your telly this would allow you to record two things on your Sky HD box then switch to your built in freeview that your telly has.

Hope this has answered your questions

Cheers

Connection problems

Sound like the least road of Pain is to Return it and write down the new code you need to know.

There may be other solutions, but is support is not helping, get another brand. It should not be that hard.

Unable to Tune TV to Sky + RF output

Hi.

The problem is that the modulator output frequency of your sky box is exactly the same as for example chanel 5 on your terestrial aerial.
You need to change this number to a different one thats clear of local terestrial transmissions

1) Select the Services button on your Sky or Sky+ remote control.

2) Type in 401 [select] on your key pad and you will get to the installer menu. You cant gain access to this via the drop down menu as it is designed for the Sky Engineer to use.

3)
Select Option 4 to configure the RF outlets on your Sky Digibox.

4) The option RF Chanel Number change this number from example 35 to 60 .
You may need to do this using other numbers 26 34 55 etc
Every time you alter the number store it then try & tune TV to sky.
Any other sets in the house connected by RF leads will require retuning for sky.
Save new settings and you should find that your RF outlet to TV works fine.
