When I press the power button the TV sounds like it is turning on and a picture comes on but then disappears after a couple of seconds. Then the power, timer and lamp light start to blink. Samsung said to check the lamp. I checked the lamp and it was fine. What else could it be?
This is usually caused by 1 of 2 things.
1: You have a lot of dust in the vents so the bulb gets too hot. You might see a flashing red temperature light on the front status button. Clean the vents to the light housing and see if that solves the problem. You might also want to physically disconnect the power from the TV for about 30 seconds to allow it to reset if it is just a random problem.
2: Your light is about to go out. If you have had the tv for a few years, it is possibly time to replace the light bulb. You can usually tell this because the light will be dimmer than normal and possibly all 3 indicator lights will be blinking on the status button on the front.

i have the same problem. I push the power button and it turns on. I see a picture with pink and purple lines going across the top half of the screen and i hear no sound. So then i try change the channel, turn up the volume, try to check out the menu button and even try to turn it off. But nothing happens. After a few seconds the tv freezes and the screen goes black. It didn't turn off yet cause i could hear noise coming from the tv and i see a light in the back of the tv. Like about 2 or 3 minutes after i turn it on it just shuts down. Please Help its pretty close to Super Bowl Weekend.
