After my KitchenAid Superba dishwasher has run its cycle, the soap door is open but the dish soap, either granular or packet, is still dry and intact. Although the dishes appear to be clean, they obviously haven't been washed with soap! Is there something I can do to fix this myself? This dishwasher is almost 4 years old and has worked fine until lately.
Also had the same problem with our KitchenAid Superba. A plastic cutting board had been placed at the front of the lower basket and was partially blocking the soap dispenser door! My advice: Be aware of large pans or cutting board placed nearby the dispenser.
I had the same problem wit my Kitchen Aid superba. All I did was throw a dishwashing tablet in the bottom of the machine before using. Worked fine for me. And I didn't have to go through the hassle of taking half of the machine apart. I've also seen a lot of complaints posted on other web sites regarding the superba dishwashers. I'll never get another one that's for sure!!!
Gagaweaver, couple of things you want to check here. Check the upper spray arm for any clogged holes or cracks along the edges. Position it in the 12:00 position and run the dishwasher for a little, open the door and verify that it has rotated. Make sure the water entering the dishwasher is min. 120 degrees, use a thermometer. Makes sure that there is no large pans or dishes blocking the upper spray arm from spraying onto the inner door. If all that checks out. You will have to remove the lower spray arm, filter cover and chopper cover to make sure the chopper screen is not coated or plugged up. If it is, it will prevent a good flow of water to the upper spray arm. Catriver..post back.

I had a similar problem with my KitchenAid Superba. The only thing is that I found that the small top arm was not emitting water nor was it spinning. I tried a few times to run the machine with nothing in it but a cup of white vinegar ... and still no help. Then I took out the top shelf and clogged the hole that the middle arm runs from with a wide strip of tape... and still no help. I took a tooth pick and cleaned out the small top arm's holes and as I did that I noticed that the top arm was not properly snapped into it's place. I ran the machine and saw no movement in the arm. Then I snapped the arm into it's hinges. There are two hinges holding the top arm in place. I tried the machine again and WELLA! - I opened the door to see water streaming from the top arm and it still spinning a bit. My machine is fixed!!!
My dishwasher (kitchenaid superba) no longer has water running through it . i have tried the rinse cycle but no water appears in it. Also prior to this there were always debris and bits dried onto all our glasses. What can be causing these two problems?
