Kenmore stackable dryer makes squealing sound. need to find out where to get replacement belt. heard people say open it up and replace the belt but we dont know where it opens up.

sounds like a bad belt and or pulley. If you take the top of the dryer off you can use a piece of candle wax to lube the belt and see if that makes the squealing stop to verify the belt/pulley as the source of the squeal. If so, you can but a new belt and pulley kit for about $30 and replace yours. Good Luck!

the motor will make a sound if working so if heard check for a broken belt that surrounds the drum inside

Belt needs to be replaced,have you ever had a car drive by and heard a squealing noise? dryer belts "glaze" and squeal due to wear just like the ones in your engine

This sounds like it could be the tensioner pulley is worn or needs a drop of oil, or the drum rollers need the same. If they are worn too much they will need replaced. If the tensioner pulley is stiff, replace the belt as well.

The idler rollera and belt tensioner have got bearings. One of them is failing.

its the wrong seal. do not lubricate it at all rubber sweals with any kind of petrolium product. many door boots look right for the model but will be thicker then needed. and will cause rubber to hit the basket. 

The squealing could cause from the belt that drives it

Could be the idler pulley, or the dryer seals.

My dryer of the same model number had the same issue. The teflon/plastic wear points are worn out or have fallen off. They are about $22.00 plus shipping at the site below. Disconnect the power, lift (with force) the top off at the front of the dryer and you will have access to remove and replace.

my sears kenmore 417 stacking get things caught every time in the dryer and leaves some brown stuff on all my clothes.

How can I keep things from getting caught??
