Self testing We were trying to send a fax and the operator tried to stop the fax from sending. She unplugged the machine in a panic and now self testing is displayed on the readout and we cannot get the machine to reset.

Goes to self test and says there!

You may have a bad system board, but try this first.

Press

Unplug power cord in the rear of the machine

While holding down the ENERGY SAVER key, plug in power cord

Scroll down to SHIPMENT SET

Press SET

Press 2

Wait for the machine to initialize.

I'm sorry to say your fax machine has a bad LASER unit. A laser error code will stop all print functions. The laser units are no longer available.

We just changed the toner in our fax, and now it's printing solid black pages out. Help!

Unplug the cable that connects the computer and printer together.
Plug the printer power cord into a wall outlet.
Print a self-test to determine if the problem is related to the printer, rather than the software.
If the problem occurs on the self-test page, replace the toner cartridge. A faulty or damaged cartridge may cause black pages.
Remove all accessories (cartridges, memory, I/O boards, etc.) and try to print a self-test again. Faulty accessories may cause black pages to be produced.
If the problem persists, the printer may need to be serviced.

Are you plugging the phone line into the line jack or the phone jack on the fax machine, it should plug in to line. Also try and unplug/replug the units power cord as well as trying a different phone jack location.

Fax unable to receive and send.

Some basic troubleshooting tips are listed below to help determine the cause.
Check the following items :

1
Ensure the phone cord is plugged directly from the wall jack, into the back port of the fax machine marked "Line", "To Wall Jack", or with a wall jack symbol

Remove any other device from the line such as splitters, credit card machines, or telephone answering machines and retry.

Turn Error Correction Mode (ECM) off ,
For turning off ECM > press set up > press ok >go to advanced fax set up by using the arrow key > press ok > press arrow key go to OFF > press ok .

After these steps > try to send a fax to undermentioned number , once it is sent u will recieve a confirmatory fax in return as well .

or u can try to send a fax to a different local number as well.
