Question about Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Smartphone
It switches off automatically when it is in my pocket and locked, when i switch it on, the same standby screen with the same lock screen appears like nothing happened
My daughter had the same prob with her phone, easy to solve by sliding a thin piece of card between the back of the battery and the phone inner compartment so the battery is then a tight fit.
I belive it could be a design flaw as the battery moves up and down slightly thus lossing the connection.

Possible solution or workaround...
i have disabled the auto keylock feature and the problem seems to be solved. i think the error occurs as the autolock activates (possibly in tandem with the light-sensor being covered at the same time - it only tends to happen when in a pocket). just gotta remember to manually lock it if you put it away.
so far so good for this, but it's only been a day. but for me, that's a result!

Definitely a battery connection problem. My phone became unuseable after having it only a month. Symptoms were, switching off 4-5 times a day, battery low warning tone even after charging overnight, battery low warning but then immediately displays "fully charged" after plugging in charger. I inserted a 1" square piece of thin card under the battery at the top by the contacts (Google for more instructions). This lifts the battery up slightly against the contacts. It's now day 4 and haven't had a single problem, battery still going strong and no charging required yet at all!

How this happens is there is movement with the battery in the casing just put a piece of paper at the sides of the battery and underneath and this WILL fix problem.....
