this is a normal occurrrence in devices containing CCDs and does not constitutes a bad functions. (tHIS image will not be recorded when still photo, but it will be recorded when shooting movies. Remember the in the LCD monitor will darken in strong SUNLIGHT or bright light.
I have this Panasonic PanaSync SL70 17'' monitor, I don't use it often. It is still in very great shape. However, I tried to turn it on yesterday, I got a black screen. The power LED is on and I can hear the relay is clicking when signal received. I tried to remove the signal cable, I can see it turns to power saving mode. It seems that everything works fine except no picture. I am if the transformer is gone, but not sure. I am wondering if you can help?
I have the same dictionary and have owned it for 3 years now. Half my screen went out a month or so agao and I couldn't find anyone who could repair it so I just opened it up and and *gently* tapped around to make sure there were no loose wire connections on the back of the screen. Lo an behold it worked! Maybe this could help with your problem. I would at least try that before buying a new one. (BTW taking it apart was a little difficult but not impossible... around 15 minutes or so for me)
