Alpine Head unit CDA-7839E and CD changer CHA-S624

I bought this second hand and dont have the book. It has a single cd option as well as the stacker. When the single cd is playing the volume controls from 1 to 35 no problem but when the stacker is engaged the volume on 1 is quite loud and doesnt seem to increase when you turn it up to 35 as if it has been preset. When you put the volume to zero you cant hear anything of course but 1 is too loud. It used to be hooked up to a equalizer with the previous owner and now it isnt. Is this relevant?? It's like it is preset to that volume all the time, except when you play the single cd or the radio. Appreciate any clues to solving this.

Yes, I'm sure Alpine will sell you another face but there is still the option of repairing the broken face at a good repair shop. Of course getting a new face is the easiest (read most expensive) way to get you going again.

I've got the same problem with my Alpine changer. It seems like a widespread problem, but known cause or solutions.

The magazine wouldn't eject which i'm told is due to a weak or dirty belt or gearing. I have a temporary solutuion for this (which is to undo the top of the frame inside the caring which releases the...

Hi
Open top cover, if the empty magazine was left inside the cd trays it can slide out into the playing area and jam the unit, check it like that anyhow. Sometimes you can see a small metal tab to release the magazine.

However Error1 means Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.
And NO CD.CD error message means No CD in magazine or no magazine in CD Changer.

To fix the problem, disconnect the CD changer.
take off the top plastic slide cover,
with a small screwdriver slowly move the gearing so that the CD disc holder will move back to the load - unload position.
Pop out the CD holder.
Replace unit, reconnect the optic and power lead, switch on radio and the unit will work again.
grease the moving parts with light lubricant.

I'm looking for a cd cartridge for my alpine cha-5624 cd changer

You may be able to contact Alpine directly and order the cartridge from them. The cartridge themselves are very hard to find. The only other suggestion I have is to check eBay. Sometimes you can get the entire changer broken for cheap and just use it for parts.
