The 8 type is made of two loops that go around the cat's neck and torso respectively, attached at the back of the neck. The H type harness connects the two loops with an additional piece, to which the leash connects.

Are martingale collars good for all types of dogs?

Although originally designed for greyhounds and whippets, many dogs can be trained on this type of collar. It works well on dogs with necks larger than their heads - such as bulldogs.

What's better the 8 type or the H type?

The 8 type is a much more basic collar fit for cat ownerswho are new to the business. The H type is much more comfortable to control and even muchmore comfortable for your cat. Most cat owners prefer the H type collar as do I,and I strongly recommend it.

Input jack fell inside

Yes, the jack MAY actually be broken. It will need to be serviced. Run cables through the handle to avoid plugs from being yanked sideways and breaking the jacks.

I have a DR250 and I can't get the chuck open

I've run into this from time to time, usually have to fix it with two pairs of channel locks, one on each collar on the chuck. With the drill facing you, hold the inner collar steady and turn the outer collar counter-clockwise.
The chuck should not stick like that under normal circumstances (mine only did it when it got full of sawdust), so there may be a mechanism issue and there is a fair possibility that you will break the chuck doing this repair. That being said, 30 bucks is reasonable for a new one, and it's not doing you much good jammed like that.
