Viewsonic n3251w will no longer display Closed Captions

Right after I got it a while back, the unit would not respond to any remote control funtion other than on off and volume. I could not change inputs I could not change screen size none of the buttons on the panel worked either except the same ones that worked on the remote. It got sent to the factory repair center down in Southern Cal and they fixed it. Now out of warranty, it suddenly stopped displaying closed captions. I can select the closed caption funtion from the remote and the menu but it does not show anything. Every other function seems fine. I tried to reset the unit by unplugging for days and also powering off then on with the various panel buttons pressed. No Luck Got any ideas?

You can reset your viewsonic remote control by removing the batteries, and holding the power button down for 10 seconds. Just 10 minutes ago I repaired my remote, which was doing absolutely nothing, not even turning the set off and on, Called Viewsonic, they told me this, and it worked ! Yay !

Zenith SL2773W problem

The dark rectangle appears because you have the closed captions on and set to TEXT. Closed captions set to CC1 puts the words on the screen and TEXT puts a black box on the screen. Go into the menu, navigate to the page with closed captions and set your captions to OFF.

Need to find the remote control for my ViewSonic N3235W3M HDMI TV

I can't find a Viewsonic N3235W3M. However the N3235W and the N3235W-M use the RC00136P remote. This remote is available from several sites: http://www.electronicadventure.us/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=A-00008148&Category_Code=VRC2 and http://www.remotecontrolscenter.com/viewsonic/a-00008148.html . A replacement remote is available from remotes.com here: http://remotes.com/store/viewsonic/n3235w.html .

I hope this helps.

How to turn closed caption off?

If the cc button on your Sharp remote control isn't turning them off then the captions may be coming from your cable box. The hidden menu to access closed captioning on the cable box is usually found by turning it off and then (yes I did say turn the cable box off) then press the menu button on the front of it immediately after turning it off. Then you navigate down to captions and disable them. When you turn the cable box back on the captions should no longer be there.

Remote for N3251W will not work.

Many of the so called universal remotes are not universal at all. Many people ending up having to use one remote for the TV, another for the cable etc.

Recently, remotes have come on the market that truly are universal. Go to any electronics box store with a list of the electronic items in your home that you want to control with one remote and they will be able to assist you. Be sure to have model numbers, brand names, and IF you have them, all of the owner manuals.

These new all inclusive remotes are a little more expensive but they do control all of your electronics.
