Unlike other laptops, Acer laptops integrate a computer management utility called 'Acer eRecovery Management' to create backup of hard drive data, create restore point, reinstall applications & drivers, and reset Acer laptop to factory setting.

Step 1: Before starting your Acer laptop, ensure that there is no external storage device attached to it. Now start your laptop.

Step 2: Press 'Alt + F10' when the laptop starts booting, and wait for a moment while Windows loads the reset files.

Step 3: When 'Acer eRecovery Management' window appears, select 'Restore System from factory default' and click 'Next' to continue.

Step 4: Again click 'Next' to reset your Acer laptop. This process will erase all data from your hard disk and reset your Acer laptop to original factory settings.

Step 5: Click 'OK' in the notification window to begin the the resetting operation. Now wait while your Acer laptop is reset to factory settings.

Tips: You can also create a backup copy of your laptop data before factory reset. Simply click 'Backup' in 'Acer eRecovery Management' window.

If the computer will boot into windows you can choose this option from the Acer E-Recovery management software.  If it will not then use alt+f10 during the boot.

My acer aspire one says is missing or corrupt system32 file how can i fix that?. EDWIN

A system32 file is a program file for your 32bit OS (Operating System) you could attempt a system restore from your start menu by finding the system folder and rolling your PC back to an earlier date, another last resort alternative is to reinstall your system or use your restore partition to reset your acer to factory settings by pushing F10 or F11 (dont remember which) when your system is booting up

    Restore to factory default

    Perform a system recovery:
Acer computer's do not ship with recovery CD's - there is a program that allows you to burn the disks or recover.
    3 ways to recover:

    1. If in Windows - Start - Programs - Acer empowering technology - Acer E-recovery management -
click on Restore at bottom then "Restore to factory default settings"
    2. Or click on Burn disks instead of Restore
    3. If unable to boot into Windows then tap Alt/F10 during boot right after Acer splash screen when starting up the computer.
    4. This will start the Acer E-recovery program - choose Factory Default Settings and follow instructions.
