Remote sensor on tv not responding I,have to turn on tv manually. change input manually,tv reception is ok. Volume cannot be controlled,it will lock in at full volume or drift back & forth, mostley full volume. If I use volume buttons on tv , it changes input (video 1 pc hdmi & so on) Once in a while setup screen will appear then disappear. I have changed batteries in the remote, I don`t believe this is the problem. When tv is first turned on the volume icon at bottom off screen will go from 0-60 and hang. since I cannot get remote to work with tv I can`t use mute button. The problem apppears to be in the tv itself? I have read of someone bypassing the manual control and use the remote to solve problem - but how to bypass the manual - just cut the wire??

Have you checked your remote to see if its working? If you have a digital camera or camera phone, point the remote at the lense and see if it shows up on camera screen. If it is working then the IR sensor on the tv could be bad.

Samsung LN46B530P7f. Tv not respond to remote or channel volume buttons tv changing channels and volume on its own

Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. Contact any service technician.

Try doing this:

Self-check indication only:

Produce TV reception screen, and while pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button on the main unit, press [OK] button on the remote control

for more than 3 seconds.

Self-check indication and forced to factory shipment setting:

Produce TV reception screen, and while pressing [VOLUME ( - )] button on the main unit, press [MENU] button on the remote

control for more than 3 seconds.

9.1.2. Exit
Disconnect the AC cord from wall outlet.
This is straight out of the service manual.

VW37L 37 in. LCD HDTV input button wont work

Have you find out if the problem is with your remote control? For instance, you are able to control your TV using a Universal remote control. My 32" Vizio TV had a similar problem, initially thought it was related to my remote control but in fact the TV didn't respond either to an universal remote control of my SAT receiver that I eventually use to just turn on and off the TV. I've found out that the problem was with a little board on the TV located at the left down corner viewed from the front side of the TV and that receives the signal from the remote control. I found the board on ebay for about $5, replace it and the TV responded again to both original and universal remotes.

My TV will not respond to the remote.

Hello
Do check the infrared emission from your LG remote control. Just to to this link, where you can see details about it. If infrared emission is there, and still TV does not accept it, the infrared sensor inside your TV is faulty and should be repaced. Ok

Orion TVD2710. Lost remote, can't change signal input

I would suggest you try to find a universal remote that has an "input" or "source" button and program that one to your tv. By pressing the "source" or "input" button, it will change the input to the tv. I hope this helps! -Der Strom

LG TV no longer responds to the remote control.. Manual use of buttons on the side works fine... model 37LC2D worked fine last night... directv remote which was working will also not not have any...

I have had the exact same problem with my 47LG70 after 13 months of use. I changed my remote control sensor but it did not help. Before you do that, try something simple which seems irrelevant. On this website, others have posted success by plugging in any standing set of headphones into the remote control or headphone jack on the rear TV panel. This solved my problem. So I proceeded to thoroughly dust all of the input/output component jacks on the rear and side of the TV with an air-can. This solved my problem and I do not need to have the headphones plugged in. So try these two things before changing the sensor.
