You will first need to find the DNS setting which is probably 255.255.255.0 and IP address of your router, which is probably 192.168.2.1.
Check your computers ip addresses which will be the next number up eg 192.168.2.2.
You then need to go into the psp manual connection set up and use 192.168.2.5 as the psp ip address to be on the safe side and not duplicate an address.
Set the dns primary and secondary server addresses as 255.255.255.0 and set the gateway address as 192.168.2.1( if that is your routers address, as the gateway is your router)

You may notice that sometimes connecting your PSP to your network seems like a hard thing to do. But if you're aware of the basic configuration you can say that it's not a complicated thing. If your experiencing hard time connecting to the internet please make sure to check on the error. Based on what you have mentioned it says that you need to check the security setting. You may try following the steps below for the basic configuration on how to connect your PSP to your router.
1. First step is to make sure to turn on your PSP as well as the wireless/WLAN switch.
2. Then Navigate to " Network Setting".
3. Select "Infrastructure Mode".
4. Now Select "New Connection" and Name this connection as you deem appropriate.
5. Navigate to "WLAN Settings" Select "Scan".
6. Your router should now be listed.
7. Please go to "WLAN Security Setting". If you did not select encryption in ROUTER SET-UP, then leave the option as "None"
8. But if you selected encryption in ROUTER SET-UP, then select the appropriate WEP, or WPA.
9. Then navigate to "Address Settings". Select "Easy"
10. Go to "Setting List". Verify that your settings are correct.
11. Navigate to the next screen and press X to save your settings. You should get a message that says "Save Completed. Test Connection". Press X.
12. You should get two quick display messages. The first should say "connecting to access point." The next should say "obtaining IP address".
From this point you already established a connection and using your PSP you can now browse the net.
Hope this information will be helpful.

Is there any computer online using the router. If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router. If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer. router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings.

Ok, first the game must be a infrastructure permitting game (NOT AD-HOC), meaning it lets you use wifi to connect to the internet to play online.
Next you need Internet that is wifi enabled, in other words you will need a Router, which makes your internet wireless(wifi), I recommend a Netgear or Belkin Router.
Then, you will need to go to Network settings on your psp, infrastructure, Select "easy" if given the choice, and find your Router's SSID, which is basically a signal that your router sends out to be connected to. Input any password that you MAY have put on the router. If not dont worry about that. Hit next on everything else that appears on screen and save the settings and test connection (If you get an error you did something wrong).
Once complete, enter your game, enter Online, or Multiplayer or what ever it may say and select infrastructure, or it may bring you directly to the Network connections screen, select your Router's connection and have fun.
You need to open the ports that the xbox and PSP uses to connect to the internet in your router. Contact your Router's support and ask them to open the ports in the router for you so that you can connect your game and go online. this is issue with port being blocked.
There is no aoss button on a psp its on a seperate device the you have to buy that allows you to watch tv on your psp.You need internet to get online with a router but you could see if you can get connections from your neighbors. To try to get online got to network settings, infrastucture mode, new connection, scan, and if anthing pops up you could get connected tp it as long as it doesnt have a code if the security says none you can get on.next press the right arrow after you selected your internet, then click none, easy, click right, right, then press x.
If you can play at your brother's house, and your router does not work, and your router is set up correctly, then it IS your router, some of which i've had issues with in the past are just horrible and dont work with certain connections.
You need to have a wireless router connected to an adsl/adsl+2/dsl/cable modem it wont work with dialup once you have the wireless router connected to the modem you can select automatic settings under internet connection or something similar to that name
The PSP can only connect to the internet through WIFI. You can ride around to find a hot spot, or go to an internet cafe'. I can go to the big sity nearby on main street and always pick up a hotspot. Run network connection to setup the wifi and connect. In your home you will need internet, and a router setup to broudcast Wifi. The USB port on your PSP is for loading up stuff like music Video and games. You could go online on your computer and go to www.playstation.com and download Music,Video, Wallpapers, Screenshots, and trial Games. Then hook up your PSP through the USB connection to load whatever you downloaded on your computer to the MagicGate Card in your PSP. WWW.Playstation.com also has the manual you can download under PSP and Support.
