Should I buy a Davis Black Max Wind Direction Indicator straight from the manufacturers' website or is it worth looking elsewhere?

They sell them online for $39.99 on their website; however I suggest searching other avenues as I have found other sites that sell the same product for less. Here is one example that sells it for $26.99.

And a second option for $31.50

When I had this problem I replaced that ratchet toggle part that the string drum sits over. Do you use replacement refills or do you refill them yourself. If you wind the string in the wrong direction it all affect the auto feed.

Over wind

there's no such thing as over winding if the watch as stopped working it means there is a problem elsewhere, like the balance wheel is broke or there's dirt in the movement, try shaking it in a rotary direction backwards and forwards, see if you can hear a ticking sound, if not go to repair shop to get it fixed

Hi Margaret:

You did not provide your model number. If you look at the back or bottom on your machine you should be able to find the model number. With the model number visit the following site to find and download your User Manual:

http://www.westbend.com/catalog.cfm?dest=dir&linkid=173&linkon=subcategory

If you do not find the User Manual available for your model listed please reply with your model number and will see if it is available elsewhere.

Well, lets see - posted problem with a.c.fan spinning wrong direction - had one free answer to problem - looks like I got my money's worth - It's the wind - of course - why didn't I think of...

If its a twin fan model a/c, sometimes what can happen is one of the fans is dead or not starting properly due to a failed start capacitor or the motor may be open circuit. The other fan when running creates a "vacuum" which sucks the air through the bottom ( or the other fan) which causes it to "run backwards" The suggestion from what was posted earlier ,of the wind causing it to run backwards is also possible if the start capacitor (or motor) is faulty. if the motor doesnt have the power to start up in the correct direction and the outside wind is strong enough, the fan motor can actually be "blown backwards" Hope this helps,

My homelite 26cs has not advanced the line from day one. Each of the five times I have mowed and then wanted to weed eat/trim since buying it I have take the spool out, threaded it through the holes and...

Be sure the Line is wound the proper direction as having wound the wrong direction would make it wind the string back in as you try to make it feed out. Other than that I would say it may be a faulty spool but i would go to Homelite website HERE and contact them to let them know it does not feed properly if you just bought it I believe it is under a 2 year manufacturers warranty.

Thumbs up if helpful, Feedback is Appreciated!!!!
