The display light suddenly went out. I can see the different fuctions like the time, station, and everything else still working when I shine a flashlight on it but it does not light up. Is there a light bulb in the front faceplate that can be replaced?

Take your cd player to an electronic shop and ask for the thin film connection the screen with the main system, that should do it, you see after some time the film goes bad and eventually doen';t work

1998 Pontiac Montana Transport Radio and Temp Displays are out

don't know if you have had any luck yet.. the radio displays on those older gm cars do just simply fail , I have had 4 in that 96 to 99 time frame and each one just quit suddenly. I believe as crazy as it sounds that the display runs thru the radio. gm did this in all their newer cars in 2000 and up ..they use a data cable that runs thru the radio and feeds half the dash ..

Dell inspiron 1501 display almost blank

Try changing the memory stick, if still doesnt work, it means the invertor of the screen is gone.

Picture gone from TV Model LE46M51B

I suspect that your backlight has gone out. If you shine a light on the screen can you see remnants of the picture that should be displaying? If so, it's definitely the backlight, and most likely the power inverter for the backlight. You can probably find a replacement inverter, but you may need a repair manual to install it. I'd recommend checking the warranty status first and sending it in for repair if you can.
