Question about Samsung SyncMaster 910T 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Screen black Good Day! Thanks for reading, I am having trouble with my monitor. One of the kids left it on ater using it and when I came in to log on I moved the mouse and nothing happened. The computer was on, but screen black. The green power indication button was on. Tried to turn the monitor off but the power button had no effect. Unplugged the monitor, waited a minute and then plugged it back in again. The green power light comes on immediately but screen still black. All of buttons on monitor have no effect on the display. Plugged in second monitor and it works fine, therefore no problem with the computer or video card. (although the second monitor is a crt) This makes me think there is something wrong with the power supply circuit on the monitor itself. I need help, if you have any idea what it could be. Or if you know where I can get circuit schematics for this monitor. Greatly appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks Bill

    Thanks Tom,
I don't think that was the problem though. I checked with a flash-light and didn't see anything. I think the screen is black with no power to the display. As soon as you plug the monitor in the green light illuminates. The power button has no effect on the monitor. The green light stays on until you unplug the unit. Weird. I thought it might be a problem with the power supply. Any other ideas??

After 1 or 2 hours the monitor is going black. The green power led is burning but thre is nothing to see on the screen. Even after a while when you startup the PC again there is nothing to see.

Can you give me advise what to do?

Bill, It could be your LCD backlight giving you problems. With the computer on and the monitor power LED green shine a flashlight in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Look for the ?Start? button, if your backlight is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. Depending on the monitor this is usually and economically repairable problem. well im not a great tech but i can give you one solution, you can try to connect it to ANY monitor from the VGA port of your laptop, just find a PC monitor to do this with. to "flip" the screen to different angles you will have to be logged on.

Hope this helps, i you have any further questions just ask

Screen has a vertical black band on right hand side

You might have a centering control among the options of your monitor. Look up the manual, or just play with the buttons until you find it.

2 inch black on both sides of the monitor (Horizontal)

Hi Bj, Is it an aftermarket video-card? If it is, like ATI or Nvidia, Download the recent drivers for your particular card, Uninstall your Videocard from device manager, then install the software.
