Question about Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera
While taking photos, a couple of shots came up saying there was an error. I thought that if I somply deleted them this might go away. When trying to delete them, the camera showed a message saying that there is a memory card error. I cant get rid of it and I cant use my camera while it is there. I have a connection cable for the camera and I tried connecting the camera to the computer to see if there was a way of sorting this error using the computer, but I have still found no solution. I dont have a slot in my computer for a memory card, but would this be of any use in sorting out the problem? Can the memory card be fixed, or do I need to buy a new one?
Hi buddy, i had the same problem. Several times you never know when, if you can reach out for a card slot or reader do it. That's the solution, i own 4 cards by now and had same issue on 3 of them, including the original canon 16 Mb. Use your thumbnail view to identify corrupted pictures, then delete them on DOS prompt. You will loose some shots but not all. By the way using a USB2 reader your pictures could be moved faster, i have a 1GB card and could copy all shots a lot faster than using camera. Hope it helps you.

It sounds like your card is the problem. Try using a different card in your cam to confirm this. You might try to format the card (should be a menu that lets you do this) to see if that helps. Also check the connectors on the card and make sure they are not dirty or broken.
