My Ipaq 3715 will not respond when the screen is tapped. I have tried resetting and restoring and this does not help. Is the screen it self bad? Any suggestions ?
It sounds like you've got some dust in the corners of the screen, here's what I did: 1. clean around the edges of the screen using a business card. 2. If you dare, try using some compressed air to clean between the screen and the body (very, very carefully! do not apply too much pressure). I had excactly the same problem and solved it this way.

Make shure the PDA didn't received any shock or something similar. Then try a master reset and then if it still doesn't work try a ROM upgrade. Download the ROM file from here: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=420450&prodTypeId=215348&prodSeriesId=457080&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=2050 And follow the program's instructions. If it still doesn't work, it is almost shure that your touchscreen (digitalizer) has failed. This is a separate part from the actual display, you don't have to change the whole display. However it could be an expensive repair. I'm sorry for not being able to assist further.
