Blown fuse over and over

I am working on a Toshiba 42h81 rear projection tv. I fixed it over a year ago by soldering jumper 010, and relacing fuses. Now fuse f470 keeps blowing (5amp). It only blows on startup of the tv or plugging it in. I'm not sure what to look for next.

I have a Toshiba 61H71 that keeps blowing F850. It was just sitting there the first time it did it. I didn't have a replacement fuse so I temporarly replaced it with a 3A glass barrel type fuse. This...

Resolder jumpers on signal PCB..May be near convergence IC circuit..on 50" model they are 050 & 010. You may have solder cracks..I repaired a 50" toshiba..Let me know if this fixes

No Picture on my Toshiba 42h81

It won't be a bulb or something simple from the front. My guess is that the convergence cirsuit is having a problem.. Several pico fuses you could check are F850 F851 which are 5 amp p/n # 23144842 and F852 is a 2 Amp p/n #23144841... This will indicate that the convergence amps are probably defective and/or some ring cracked joints are causing some problems, like jumper 010 in front of L7711... You really need a tech to repair this unless you have some hidden electronics talent. Tracing you'll need a dmm and scope at the least, not to mention soldering station and all the obvious other equipement.
You might try the NESDA site to locate a tech near you if you live in the states. http://www.nesda.com/locator/state_search.php
That way you can be assured of getting a reliable, highly trained technician for the job.

STK392-110 's = replace with Toshiba or Sanyo quality only..
What was the location & value of the resistor ?
An IC, if shorted internally, can prevent the tv from powering up..
Re-check soldered in 5 amp micro fuses F850,851,852,etc
Fix it ! ..............................T.

Toshiba 42h81 replaced IC's now flashing red light and no picture

first of all take the board out and back sure all the pins are soldered and that one didnt get pushed up out of the way.
then check for solder bridges where you would have solder more than one pin together.
then check the resisters in the circuit that they are all good and then check to make sure everything is plugged in correctly

Toshiba 42h81 rptv

Pull chassis--check all fuses,esp, F850 & F851.They protect
the B+ supplied to convergence circuit. They are found in the power
supply,on edge of the main board. On the signal board, locate the
large IC's mounted to heatsinks.IC part #  STK392-110.Between the
edge of the signal board and the IC's---locate two grey jumper wires
and some hard wire jumpers = solder them all,if you don't,the fuse may blow again.Next, replace IC's with Hitachi up-grade part
# STK394-160E....Reassemble...power on.....touch magic focus
and you are done....T.     ?????s-----Let me know...

Blinking red power indicator light

Pushing it back in place went it went out tells me that the problem is probably a poor solder connection. That arcing probably took out one of the fuses, but a fuse is NEVER the cause merely a symptom. I would begin by examining the black wire that feeds the +16v to the convergence IC's on the main board. The convergence circuit is the most thermal circuit in that unit. Next check for any jumpers and other component joints that appear to be ring cracked. Even the convergence amps themselves. Then check for open fuses after you've made a good inspection. Check for fuses: F850 & F851 5amp, F470 2amp, and F890 3.15amp and one of these are likely open. But if you replace them without correcting the problem that cause them to open it will simply happen again.. Good Luck Bill

This appears to be a duplicate post - - and I'm not sure which one you'll check for an answer so here goes: Pushing it back in place went it went out tells me that the problem is probably a poor solder connection. Toshiba 42H81 Blinking on and off light

Very common problems with this TV set. Toshiba even has a technical bulliten on this and several other models of tV set. The negitve terminal of C809 and C810 need to be soldered, as there are no eyeletes in the printed circuit board. This problem could also take out the fuse, F860. Replace if necassary. Good Luck
