Thermal fuse location Sony kdf-50we655

My red light is flashing 6 times and from what I've read it is the thermal fuse. Where can I find it or a diagram of where it is. Thanks, Nick

the g1 board is your issue. 6 blinks means there is no or low b+ coming from the g1 board.

SOURCE: Sony KDF-55xs955 TV will not turn on. Red LED flashes 6 times.

This sounds so simple, but this is what i gathered from Sony's website. Sounds to me like it may be a service issue.

The STANDBY light will flash if the television detects an issue within the television. Some of these issues can be resolved simply by following the steps below to reset the television.
If the issue is still unresolved after following all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required . Please note the number of times the STANDBY light flashes and relay that information to the service center.

  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.

SOURCE: Problem with Sony Wega 50 in kdf-50we655 light blinks 55 times

I fixed my problem by removing the lamp and vacuuming the hell out of the hole where the lamp lives and also getting all of the dust out of the rear ventilation grids with my vacuum. I put the old lamp back in and what do you know the TV has worked perfectly ever since. My lamp was over a year old and did not show any signs of hazing on the lens that you might see on a lamp that has a ton of hours on it. I just thought I would try to put it back in before I spent a couple of hundred bucks on a new lamp.
TA DA problem fixed.

I have a sony KDF-50we655 TV first the lamp when out, then I replaced that, now it will just turn off then on and this will continue till it stays off

If the stand by light is blinking 6 times, it is the "Thermal Fuse", cost is about $4.95 shipping could be $15.00, if you take it to a technician you will pay around $300.00. It is easy to do it but depends how patient and skilled you are. The thermal fuse burn out when your tv ventilation is defective due obstruction on the vent and ventilator, due dust, hair etc. Make sure you clean very well everything inside and out when replacing the thermal fuse. Please check with your manual about description depending of the light blinking and times blinking.

My Sony Grand Wega KDF-E55A20 will not turn on with the remote or manually. The red light flashes 6 times then off.

6 times is the lamp thermal fuse or lamp. its a thermal that sits on the bottom of the lamp area.
remove the fan and you will see the siler disk with black base cut the wires and slide the new one in on the side secure it on the old thermal and your fixed.

I just replace the lamp w/housing and color wheel on Samsung HLN467W--now the lamp light is flashing and the temp light is red, why?

Hello you may also have a bad thermal fuse which is located above or to the side of the lamp housing, IF you are getting 6 blinks and then pause for 3 secs then 6 again, the thermal fuse is open and needs to be replaced.
