Look for any debris under the carrier that will interfere with the movement, then put some WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on.

Many possibilities; Check to be sure the printwheel is properly installed, then try turning it on while moving the flat keyboard connectors around if it works see my tip under WW1000.

Check in the area where the printwheel is installed for paper or other debris. If it does the same thing with the printwheel out then it is probably a printwheel sensor.

Usually means the keyboard is bad. Check the keyboard connecdtions. Sometimes a real pain to remove and reinsert them. What lights are blinking?
