After leaving the camera on the dock for a day, I am unable to take any pictures. The screen just shows blank and the camera freezes up. By rotating the control, Im able to close the lens and open it but still no pictures. Every now and then I get a message, wrong format. I have reformatted the card, but get the same results. If I leave the camera off the dock for a while, put it back on for about 15 minutes, the camera works normal. Any ideas out there? Thanks in advance....Catriver.

Re: not working after being on dock
I had a Kodak Easyshare. Very loyal to Kodak, it was. It suddenly lost all it's little electronic brains when I (gasp) removed the USB cable before it was completely powered down.
Called Kodak. Was informed they could "reload the internal software" for about the same price as a brand new Easyshare camera. What a good little moneymaking camera! I'm sure these models made lots and lots of money for Kodak!
I decided a proper funeral was a better way to go, seeing as the good little camera already gave it's everything for it's Parent company. It was given a nice burial on a sea of asphalt, at 70 miles per hour. Shame I didn't have a camera to get pictures of the event...
My sister had a similar problem after her Kodak software was updated. Kodak had her uninstall all the Kodak software. She then had to reinsall all software including the update. She emailed Kodak support and they helped her right away.

Hi there: You can view pictures in the folder when connected the camera at pc monitor? but cannot take pictures or movies... the LCD stays blank? If this answer is yes, could be a problem with the CCD image sensor, if no, your LCD display go to bad and will need replacement.
The Display button manually turns the LCD display on or off to save batteries. If you accidentally had turned the LCD off, It should only take one press of the button to turn it back on and leave it that way. As such, it's not you but the camera. The A570 IS is relatively new. Your camera is likely still under warranty. If so, contact Canon for warranty repair (see the following link):
the E18 means the lens system has a problem. I had it with my S2 and sometimes it worked, sometimes not. Eventually it stopped working. The only solution was sending it to repair, they changed the lens system.
You can reinstall the software. But a really good solution is a card reader. They are cheap and reliable and don't need any software. When you plug it in, it will install itself, and then when you put your car in the reader its like an extra little hard drive in your computer. Just drage the files or folders where you want them on your computer. Less wear and tear on the camera is always good and then you don't need to plug in power or waste batteries if you don't have a dock.
The EasyShare camera dock automatically stops charging the batteries after it registers a full charge, so it is fine to leave the EasyShare digital camera on the EasyShare camera dock for short periods. However, leaving the camera on the dock for longer periods (days or weeks) is not recommended because this can cause problems with your camera and the batteries.
