Camera cannot be operated

I have used my DMC-FZ4 for almost 2 years and it was perfect. Since last week the camera cannot be operated. The battery is charged. When it is turned on, I can neither access the Menue nor Review of Delete buttons. The only button that operates - is the Shutter button, although it allows to take only one picture.

SOURCE: Lumix DMC-FX01 Buttons not working

Remove the card and battery. Clean the battery contacts inside camera with a cotton swab lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Be sure battery is charged. Press all buttons on camera. Insert card and then the battery. See if it works. If you can now get into the setup menu, you can do a reset from the menu.

Hello

That is a sign of lens problem. Try gently - moderate tapping the camera repeatedly, with the lens facing the ground.

My camera wont turn on

The FS62 is about a three year old camera. If your battery is as old as the camera, I would highly suspect that is your problem (it's done, time for a new battery). Rechargeables are only meant to last a couple years max. Here's one, and here's another from Amazon (a little over 6 bucks with free shipping).

Battery doesn't hold charge for more than a week

All batteries will eventually fail to hold a charge. The battery chemistry and how you charge it can change how long the battery will last. The DMC-FS4 has a Lithium-ion battery so it shouldn't have as much of the memory issue of older rechargeable batteries. (This is the "you routinely recharge the battery when it's at 50% then it always stops working at 50% charge" problem.)

How old is your battery? Eventually you will need a new battery but the time to replacement will depend on the number of recharge cycles. With a Li-ion battery, I'd expect several thousand recharges before failure. Temperature and usage will effect this. The battery does lose charge even when not used.

Be careful, some versions of the firmware look for Panasonic's specific batteries or a "that match the Panasonic rigorous specs".

I've seen a few devices where the charger failed before the battery. If a new battery doesn't seem to be charging, replace the charger. I hope this helps.

How can I charge Pamasonic DMC FS16 camera without having the charger with me. I'm on holiday and left my charger at home. I hoped the battery would last for a week,. A bit disappointed.

You can try plugging in the usb cable to your laptop, or any usb port really but the documentation is unclear whether that will actually charge the battery.

Really the only other really viable option is to find a camera shop, walgreens or tech store that could possibly carry the charger, or at least a spare battery.

Panasonic DMC-FX33 has operated perfectly for 3 + years. Suddenly, when turning on, camera displays message "Please turn camera off and then on again". Lens cluster 'twitches' but does not extend out....

Hello. If you suspect this is a lens problem ,I agree. I've had good results tapping the camera into the palm of my hand while its trying to open. Also try conecting your transfer cable to the camera and then press the power button, this keeps the viewing screen turned off sending full power to the lens mechanism. Lastly, and I should have mentioned it first,If you have a piece of exposed photo film, cut a small strip and work it in the gaps between the lens barrels to try to remove anything which may be stuck in there

Panasonic DMC-FX07 Digital Camera won't turn on.

Check your batteries, but otherwise it could be a power board. It could cost between $90 - $125 to replace the board
