No doubt in the audio menu for your TV there are several tweaks available in there - maybe even a graphic equalizer and perhaps other potential modifications. Access the audio menu with your remote and play around in there. You may be able to soften the audio up a bit. Good luck.

SOURCE: Similar problem as you helped me solve before.

OK, I think I see the problem there.
The aerial lead from the DVDR to TV should be removed.
You should have it setup the same as the other Freeview - VCR - TV
Nutshell time:
Main aerial to Freeview input.
Loop aerial from freeview output to DVDR areial input (all this does is allow you to watch freeview, or standard both out of the DVDR)
So..
Scart from Freeview to DVDR input
Scart from DVDR output to TV
Set DVDR to AV input mode.
Set TV to AV (whatever number you need for that..you now won't get anything on screen unless you have the right input selected)

If you can now see the Freeview picture on the TV and change the channels with the Freeview remote then you should be set for recording.

Having the aerial and a scart lead both going to the TV is not needed.

SOURCE: No sound on NON HD channels

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

Sounds like a blown capacitor on your board to me. Its a common problem in Samsung TV's and is typically an easy fix, but I think in the LG's its a bit more expense and not as easy as swapping out a Capacitor. I think the main board may have to be replaced there. What actually happens is the capacitor bursts at the top and oozes liquid that solidifies, its caused when the capacitor that is used is underrated for the application (basically some engineer's solution to making us have to buy a new tv in 3-4 years, a slightly underrated capacitor will have a shelf life of use, kind of like a timer, they all do it belive me) eventually the set will not rendure any picture at all and the board will have to be replaced.

I have recently purchased a LG LCD TV Model 32LK330. Everything seems to work fine except all of the people look as if they had gained an additional 100 pounds. Is this distortion natural.

It is aboslutely normal. The aspect ratios on LCDs are different from the good ol' CRTs and CRT based projection tvs. As a matter of fact when I got my first LCD tv, it took me a few months to get used to it. You can try other aspect ratios though by going to Menu-> Picture->aspect ratio and try the different settings available to see if any of them works for you.

LG "NO PICTURE" , IF FIX WILL RECUR? ,DID LG FIX DESIGN FLAW 42PC3D

I had same problem - no picture, but sound worked - LG 42PC3d - was two months past warranty, but LG agreed to fix it as a warranty call. Service guy was out within a week to replace the Z SUS(?) board. Works fine now. This must be a typical problem, as LG did fix it, even though the warranty had expired. Good luck.

LG 50" plasma tv

call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.

42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.
