Question about Zanussi FJ1254W Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Zanusi washing machine

There is a tiny amount of water in the machine that won't drain out automatically. The door is locked and we cannot open it to get the washing out. The drum has broken and therefore it won't spin and makes a grinding/crunching noise when you switch it on. Any ideas how we can get the washing out?

If you get rid of the water from the drum chances are that the door lock will then release. Try taking the outlet pipe and laying it down over a bowl to catch the water. If it empties then the door should open in a minute or so. If it does not empty then the pump is probably blocked, and you would need to remove the hose from the bottom of the drum where it connects to the pump, but make sure you either take it outside to do it, or you do it over a bowl to catch the water, and have plenty of towels to mop up the flood. It sounds like the drum bearings have gone and the bits have gone into the pump, or filter.

Samsung washing machine wf7604naw door is stuck and the lock sign won't go away- how do i force the door to open- my cloths are locked inside

It can be the door lock servo which is a ****** to reach or tamper with as it's a sealed unit, I sorted mine by draining via the filter port at the bottom right front behind the rectangular front panel ( this will normally fill a small saucepan half way when machine is level which is the best way to drain although you will be using a cellulose sponge to soak the water from the floor rather than directly into the pan) then tilting from the front 45 degrees or more backwards. This all being done with power off and water inlet pipe disconnected as this can and will snap readily. Having rested back down to a level try the door again and smile.

I have a front loading Bosch washing machine and it was working fine on Friday. On Saturday morning I went to take a load of clothes out and the door won't open - I am getting an E13 signal. My...

Hi!

The door lock uses electrical power to keep the door closed. Unplug the machine from electrical power and the lock will be released in a couple of minutes. Please be sure not to flood the room if the water level inside is above the door level.

Regarding the E13 error itself, it means too long draining time, and it can be caused commonly by something stuck in the drain filter. To get to this filter and clean it, you have to look at the lower part of the machine and remove the circular panel, then insert a little screwdriver into the hole and twist , the acces pannel will get open. Now twist the handle of the filter and pull it out. Now it can be cleaned. CAUTION: opening the filter will cause all water inside the machine to get out, so have some towels handy to avoid water to spread all over the floor.

Hope it helped,

My washer can wash but cannot drain water from thye tub. how can i fix this?

The question is pretty loose so I will do the best I can without knowing the model and type of washer but they are all basically the same.

If the washing machine appears to be functioning normally but simply won't pump away the water then the possible causes (in the most likely order) are a blockage somewhere, a pump failure, or an electrical fault stopping the pump from running.
Blockages are the more likely explanation, but pumps can fail. If the washing machine will not empty the water out you may also not be able to open the door on some washing machines although these days it's much rarer to have a pneumatic lock on the door due to cost cutting [ if a washing machine has a pneumatic door safety lock a rubber hose is connected to the door interlock from a pressure chamber bottle on the tub - water in the tub forces air up this tube and locks the door, which is released when the water is pumped out and the air pressure drops].
Full and detailed advice about finding your pump filter, draining the washing machine when stuck full of water and looking for blockages can be found here - troubleshooting pump faults on a washing machine.
If this is helpful a vote with the thumbs up would be appreciated for the free advice and is you need furthur explanaition please feel free to contact me .

Hi, I have a zanussi wwashing machine model= ghg1200apm. The door won't open. I plugged out the machine after the wash and when i plugged it in again, the door wont open. Can you help me?

Hi.

The door does not open because there is water inside the machine. To open the door you need to empty the tub first.

To empty the tub disconnect power, open the door at the bottom of the machine's front side, unscrew the drain filter cap and collect water using a container.

Usually that is enough to allow the door to open. If the door does not get released, try running a cycle again.

If still no luck, then the door is locked either because the pressure switch detecting water level is clogged with soap or because the power surge has damaged some component. In that case the machine must be partially disassembled to reach the back of the door opening mechanism. The door latch is reachable either from drain filter access or from top of the appliance.

Emptying water through the drain filter and/or restarting a cycle usually is enough to release the door lock.

Hi, Bought a Maytag front loading washer #MAH6500AWW about 5 years ago. 1. The amount of water remaining in the machine (if you turn the drum it sounds like SEVERAL gallons of water swooshing around)...

i would say the drain pump is blocked.......... you could take the drain hose and leave open end at lowest point on the floor into a container and let water drain out..........easier if you can get machine to outside door and let water drain outside i did a zanusi last night...stuck in the pump was 9 small coins 1 hair grip and a womans bra under wire............
follow the waste hose at the back of the machine it ends at the pump......... open the pump then check it out...
good luck..
cheers

Put my washing on at a 60 degree wash for 1 hour 40 mins. Went back to machine several hours later, there was tiny amount of water on floor and machine had water in it but the wash had not progressed any...

Sounds like a blockage perhaps the filter needs cleaning or pump blades jammed...If its a Hotpoint then filter is middle of sump hose connected to the drum....

Front door leaking during washing cycle

There are only two ways that water can leak out this way. it can be either the door seal or the door lock mech has become misaligned, causing a slight gap that is letting the water escape through.

I recommend inspecting the door lock mech for its integrity. make sure it is aligned correctly to specs. replace this mechanism if found to be faulty or misaligned. i would also inspect the seal for tiny ruptures as well. the slightest rupture or hole can allow small amounts of water to excape.

Inspect these areas thouroughly.

Opening door

This machine has an interlock that keeps the door shut until you've got the water out. In the short term, unhook the drain hose from its standpipe and lower the end into a basin on the floor. This should be enough to empty the water out the machine (though it may take a while if the problem is one of blockage). Once the water is out, you should be able to open the door. After that, it would be helpful to know what has happened to the machine. Is it making any noises? are there any lights on? How far through the cycle did it get? Has it still got power (check it really is plugged in and that the fuse in the plug hasn't gone)? A.
