Question about Canon BJC 3000 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Printer will not print

I have been trying to get the printer to print but it keeps flashing with six orange flashes followed by one green flash on the LED. THe print head does not return to the far right hand side but stops in the middle which is the position where the ink cartridges can be replaced. It will not even do deep head cleaning or any other functions. I have tried powering on and off but to no avail. The printer shows a status of ready but when print is selected it fails to print. The cocver is closed and the microswitch that the cover operates appears to be operating correctly. Thrte are new ink cartridges in the print head so this is not the fault and these are all correctly seated.

my problem is exactly the same. the only difference is that I changed one cartridge and refilled the others. The printer worked fine for a few high graphic pages then stopped with the same 6 orange one green code. exactly as the previous guy stated "I have been trying to get the printer to print but it keeps flashing

Exactly same printer and same problem since ten days: six amber lights followed by one green, and then the same sequence again and again and no answer at any command, even with new cartridges.
Remove and cleaup of cartridges box doesn't get any result.

This worked perfectly for my printer:

Waste Ink Counter Reset

Power off printer and covers closed
Hold down the Resume button then press and hold POWER, the Green Indicator will light. While holding down POWER , release RESUME
Double click (2 clicks) RESUME then release BOTH POWER and RESUME and wait still the printer stops blinking.
When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be ORANGE.
Press Power to set data

I got the solution from the Internet at the following link:
http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/15620

Hope this helps.

Light kee flashing orange/green and says computer is busy when there is nothing in print queue

FLASHING ORANGE LIGHT ERROR MESSAGES

Try counting the number of orange flashes.
* two flashes means you’re out of paper or the paper is not feeding correctly.
* three flashes means there is a paper Jam or the output tray is closed.
* four flashes means the ink tank is empty
* five flashes means the print head is not installed correctly or not installed or is defective (before buying a new print head always try the cleaning instructions at the end of this post first.)
* six flashes means the inner cover is open or not closed properly.
* seven flashes means you counted wrong.....
* eight flashes means the waste ink absorber is almost full or full.
* nine flashes mean that a digital camera or video that is connected is not compatible with the printer. If a specific amount of time lapses without getting a response from the digital camera or video camcorder this will happen.
* ten flashes means it can not print to both sides of the page
* eleven flashes means the automatic print head alignment failed. (this can be caused by low ink levels, ink tanks not being installed correctly, the print heads being clogged. It can also be caused by the paper output slot being exposed to a strong light source (Press the resume /cancel button and move the printer to a darker location and try to align the print head again.
* check to make sure the lock lever is correctly positioned (down)
If the above does not work, align the print head manually by opening the printer properties dialog box and clicking the maintenance tab and then select the print heal alignment button on the left side, second row down.

Problem on a canon 3100

The Power Light Flashes Orange - Error Codes When an error occurs, the power light flashes orange. The number of orange flashes followed by a long green flash indicates the cause of the problem.
Two orange flashes: Out of paper, paper jam, or paper feed error
If no paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder, or if the paper is not loaded correctly, set the paper correctly and press the Resume button on the printer to continue printing.
Three orange flashes: Paper jam
If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing.
Four orange flashes: A tank inside the BJ cartridge (print head) is out of ink
Replace the empty BJ tank and press the Resume button to continue printing.
Five orange flashes: BJ cartridge is not installed properly
Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely.
Six orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is not installed
Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely.
Seven orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective
Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge.
Eight orange flashes: Waste ink absorber almost full
The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink that is consumed during print head cleaning. This error indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full. Press the Resume button to skip the error so you can continue printing.
The POWER light flashes orange and green alternately: Service error
A service error means the printer requires the attention of a qualified technician. Count the number of flashes. (You may be asked this information.)

Printer ripair

The BJC 3000 will flash two different colored lights in a pattern to signal several different errors. From the documentation I have the two colors are orange and green, could those be the colors you see? At any rate here is the code: Two orange flashes: Out of paper, paper jam, or paper feed error. If no paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder, or if the paper is not loaded correctly, set the paper correctly and press the Resume button on the printer to continue printing. Three orange flashes: Paper jam. If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing. Four orange flashes: A tank inside the BJ cartridge (print head) is out of ink. Replace the empty BJ tank and press the Resume button to continue printing. Five orange flashes: BJ cartridge is not installed properly. Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely. Six orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is not installed. Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely. Seven orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective. Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge. Eight orange flashes: Waste ink absorber almost full. The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink that is consumed during print head cleaning. This error indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full. Press the Resume button to skip the error so you can continue printing. The POWER light flashes orange and green alternately: Service error. A service error means the printer requires the attention of a qualified technician. If you have any more questions let us know otherwise please don't forget to rate this post.
