I have an old samsung tv (no remote) and all connected through the video player which we change the channels and play and record with. We have to manually adjust sound on the tv.
All worked fine and then my grandson has done something when he was playing his playstation. The remote says it is changing stations but nothing is happening. We cannot tape or play a video now. What would the problem be.
Hope you can help.
Try to check your audio video chord check it if it is open. you didnt mention if your tv has video channel (tuner). if your tv video channel is o.k then the problem of your tv is in the video switcher inputs. in this case you need a service technician.

1. Yes, a universal remote will work just fine. Buy a universal remote and then one by one, try the following codes until you find the correct one: 000,001,004,005,008,009,013,042,051,053,058,105,109,170,174.
2. Maxell is a recording disk and often times cannot be played on certain DVD players.
With cable input connected to "RF in"on rear of unit make sure vidoe input is set to "Tuner". This will show up on the TV screen. Change channels numerically or using up/down arrow keys on DVR remote. Note there is a slight pause between changing channels. You probably will have to "autoscan" for channel setup/etc. If you say your TV set is old; it probabaly is equiped with coax
connection only/set TV channel to "3" or "4". when yot opt to play vcr/dvd it will override your
cable channel selected. Hope this helps!
Hello Giancarlo, You'll have to use the projectors remote for T.V. tuning. I don't think the samsung DVD remote will operate your projector or your T.V. channels, will it? If it does, You just have to switch the input button on the remote to change between T.V. and Video. I hope that helps.
You gotta connect the signal cable to the input of the vcr and in the output of the vcr other cable to the tv input, when you got to record some program you need put the channel number on the vcr not in the tv if you conect the vcr to the tv in the avinputs the tv will be in video mode, because the vcr receipt the signal.
connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks.
connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop.
Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v.
Let me know how you go
