Easier: Just remove the speaker grill, then press the open/close button and it will work. The tray gets hung up on the frame of the speaker grill sometimes.

The CD tray on my Tascam CD-A500 CD/Cassette combo will not open.

I understand that your CD tray on your Tascam CD-A500 CD/Cassette combo will not open. Here are some possible reasons why this might be happening and what you can do to fix it:
  • The CD tray may be stuck. If this is the case, you can try to gently pry it open with a flathead screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the tray or the unit.
  • The CD tray motor may be broken. If this is the case, you will need to replace the motor. This is a relatively simple repair that can be done by most people.
  • The CD tray sensor may be faulty. If this is the case, you will need to replace the sensor. This is a more difficult repair that should be done by a qualified technician.
If you have tried all of the above and the CD tray still will not open, you may need to contact Tascam customer support for further assistance.
Here are some additional tips to help prevent your CD tray from becoming stuck in the future:
  • Do not force the CD tray to open or close.
  • Be careful not to drop or damage the unit.
  • Keep the unit clean and free of dust and dirt.
  • If you are not going to use the unit for an extended period of time, unplug it from the power outlet.
I hope this helps!

Cd tray will not open er cd11 code

Just talked to customer service at Sharp because I had same problem with my CD trays getting stuck and would not open even if they had cd's in them. He walked me through resetting the cd system. First have unit plugged in but in standby/off. Then press the open/close button, the stop button and the CD button all at one time(beside holding unit still to keep from sliding) till the display flashes CLEAR ALL and then let go and turn unit on and see if it solves your problem. It solved mine but I did write down instructions to make sure if it happens again I can use it again. Good luck, Helen

CD-R drawer won't open. CD is in drawer.

there are different reasons for stuck up disk tray

1. load belt is worn out already
2. driving gear for mechanical loading disc tray has broken teeth.
3. cd got stuck up between the loading disc tray and the plate holder.

You will need unplug your device first and then unscrew the cover of your unit and find it yourself to know what causes it not to open.

once the cover is out, the mechanical loading disc tray will be exposed.
1. remove the stuck cd
2. plug the unit and turn on, to get access the belt, wait for the disc tray to move to the pull out position, then unplug your device.
3. plug the unit and turn on, if the disc tray do not move, use your finger to move the tray and see which gear is broken.

belts are available from this site. just have to measure the correct diameter of the belt in your unit

Hi my problem is with the dvd tray it does not open . it make a funny noise but it does not open thx

OK I fixed it. One of the CD's had gotten stuck between trays in the loader. I pulled out a few CD's by forcing open the trays gently. However even after removing as many cd's as possible one was still stuck. 1. Remove screws holding cover plate on in back and sides. 2. Remove cover. 3. Lift face plate latches and lift over top of unit. Remove serial cables from connectors on board. Take face plate and place aside. Remove screws from back of CD tray unit and bend back metal tab with flathead screwdriver. Lift CD unit up on one side so you can get your fingers up inside underneath and push stuck cd towards tray openings. You can gently force top few trays out. You may need to shake unit so that stuck cd reaches open end. Pull out CD. 4. Replace faceplate and connect serial cables. Plug in power cord, power on unit and make sure trays will eject normally. 5. Put it all back together!

I bought the cd changer with my unit & two cds are stuck in it. This happened the third time I used the unit.

Hello,

this is a mechanism problem. Also, maybe something might have hooked the cd tray and made it stuck.

What you have to do now is to open the player by unscrewing the cover, so that you can gain access to the mechanism inside the player.

After you must have opened the cover, plug the cd changer to light, power it on and use you hand to pull out the tray while you press open button.

Also make observations on the disc tray while you press the open button and check the disc tray and look for what is making it stuck and refuse to open. This is why you need use your hand to support the disc tray by pushing it open from the inside.

I wish you good luck.

My xbox 360 tray wont stay close how do i fix it

Do you mean the CD tray won't stay closed? If so check the simple things first. The button that you push to open and close the tray is actually a lever that pushes a much smaller button below it. Make sure that your eject button is not stuck down for some reason. Check your cd tray and the bay to make sure nothing got inside that is preventing the cd tray from closing all the way. I believe if something gets in the way the tray will automatically re-open. You can also take some compressed air and blow out the cd tray to remove any debris that may be blocking the tray from closing.
If none of the above simple steps work I believe it boils down to 2 things. 1. An object inside the case or tray that is preventing it from closing all the way or... 2. The eject button is stuck down.
If your comfortable with it you can take apart your xbox case and remove your CD/DVD player and ensure the button works properly. You can do a search on this site or youtube for instructions on how to take the case apart if needed. Once the case is apart the CD/DVD player is easily removed. You will then notice that the switch you press on the outside of the Xbox to open and close the CD/DVD tray is actually a lever that presses a much smaller switch directly on the front of the CD/DVD unit. You can then test your eject switch directly by pressing the button directly with a ball point pen or a pin. If the bay does not open and close properly at this point it may be necessary to replace the CD/DVD player and I do not know if it can be replaced or not. Hope this helps.

I HAVE A PANASONIC SA-CH72 STEREO SYSTEM. THE CD TRAY DOES NOT OPEN. IS THERE A WAY i CAN OPEN THE TRAY AND GET OUT THE CD THAT IS THERE, OR PREFERABLY FIX THE TRAY? BTW THE FRONT COVER TO THE TRAY...

Unplug the unit, then unscrew the metal cover over the top and sides of the unit. Then unscrew the black plastic cover that goes over the top section of the back. This will allow you to get out a CD that is stuck in the back.

Emerson MS9700 CD Shelf System - CD Tray won't open

Ironically, I am here searching for information about this kind of problem too, except I don't have cd's stuck in the unit. This one has done the no power on trick as well as some other pretty stupid stuff. I know this is an old post so if you haven't got it working yet or gotten the cd's out, the only way I know of to do this would be to remove the screws on the outside of the unit and remove the case. Once you do this you can get the cd's out, then.......... TRASH THE THING!
