Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 Digital Camera
I was on vacation and had taken about 400 pictures. I think the battery might have been low and I got an error message when taken a picture that said ERROR MESSAGE: DO YOU WANT TO REFORMAT THIS MEDIUM I'm a moron - said yes - it didn't even say "are you sure?" and the next thing I know I am back at picture number one and when I go to download the file on one of those Kodak machines to a cd there are no pictures on the disk. Any way to recover these pictures? I am a photo journalist. Thanks.
I hope you can learn a lesson to be more
careful about your important data and always back it up well after experiencing
this accidental formatting process.
But, now, what you need to do is to restore
all your lost data back as soon as possible:
Step1. Stop using this camera in case that any new file would rewrite
your original photos.
Step2. Insert this camera to your computer and prepare to restore your
photos.
Step3. Download a deleted photo
recovery freeware to your computer and start to retrieve all your deleted
photos back:

In fact, this freeware has ever
successfully saved all the inaccessible data of my friend off from his camera.
So, I believe it can also work successfully on your camera memory card, too.
Simply read more information of this
freeware here:

Step4. Save and back up all the restored photos on a different memory
card or drive in case of data recovery failure.
Good luck!

Well, you may record the photos on your Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 SD or MMC cards, just take the memory card out of your camera and connect it to the computer with a card reader, if you have no card reader, you can directly connect your camera with the memory card embedded in to the computer, and when connected, the memory card should mount as a drive letter on your computer, then you can download a reliable photo recovery software to recover Panasonic Lumix deleted/lost photos.

I have had success with this card photo recovery tool... Download the program

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

As a matter of fact, it is possible to recover your lost or formatted photos from your digital camera internal memory or memory card. First of all, you should stop saving any new files to your Panasonic camera (or SD card) or taking new pictures. Then find some photo recovery software from the following websites, which are able to recover deleted or formatted photos and movies from cell phone, digital camera, digital camcorder, digital voice recorder, memory card, memory stick and SD card etc. Digital Photo Recovery for Windows Digital Photo Recovery for Mac OS X Here are the steps: Step 1: Download and install the Digital Photo Recovery Software. Step 2: Connect your Panasonic camera (or SD card, memory card etc) to your PC or Mac. Step 3: Scan the source drive where your lost pictures located. Step 4: Recover the lost pictures and save them to another drive instead of the source drive. Best regards!
