Question about Orion TVDVD092 9 in. TV/DVD Combo

I keep getting Incorrect Disk

I click TV/DVD, then open, insert it, it goes in, reads it, then says "incorrect disk". I tried about ten other DVDs and they all are "incorrect." What gives?

I have an Orion DVD player. It played copied DVD movies, and any movies older than 5 years, but when I tried to get it to play my 3 brand new Disney movies ("Pirates of the Carabean 1 & 2" and also "Bridge To Tiberthia") it trys to "read the disk" but then nothing at all happens it just goes to the Blue "DVD" screen. Once or twice it actually did say, "DISK IS INCOMPATABLE PLEASE INSERT A DIFFERENT DISK"!! Now I can see this happening on home burnt or copied movies, but not ones that I bought brand new from Disney Inc. themselves?! Any idea what I can do to make them play?

This is the 3rd tv/video/dvd combi i have had and this happened on all 3 .. basically it means the dvd player is knackered .. my last tv went to the workshop to be fixed but luckily they replaced it although now the replacement has also gone faulty and its too late to get it repaired under warranty

Does anyone know if you can buy the dvd players and change yourself?

Cannot read dvds. Display says incorrect disk

If the dvd player is doing this on all disks then there is something wrong with the laser assembly. Cost to repair for what it is, is prohibitive. If tv has audio video input, connect external player to that for viewing disks OR buy another combo.

My dvd player keeps saying 'incorrect disk' why? and what can i do to stop it?

I don't understand your problem.
Is it the TV or is it the DVD? You say you tried other dvds and the problem is still there. Looks like the TV is the problem. Sometimes it's hard to help people when they only mention on screen issues. How can first DVD say 'incorrect disk' and then another dvd, and another still say 'incorrect disk'? It just doesn't seem to make sense. Is the contents on the disk a computer recorded movie, film or home movie? If so, you have to record the film on the disk with a format that accept the DVD. Could the DVD be a Blu-Ray, can it play a number of video formats, DVD, DivX, KviD DVD, etc.? Try first with a purchased movie DVD disc, if it doesn't work, then the DVD is faulty. DVD players these days are meant to play a wide range of video format, including CD discs. If you have an old DVD player, you may not play latest discs. But if the DVD is incorporated with the TV, then you have to insert a new movie and see if it plays. Go to an appliance or TV DVD store and talk to them. Or you can purchase a new movie and insert it in. If it doesn't work, you can always return it. As you said, you've tried different DVDs, sounds like it is a separate DVD player. If so, try other movie discs. I get the same warning only when I insert discs with movies I recorded on my computer, such as Pinnacle video editor.

No disk error for everything but CDs and Digiview Entertainment "Cartoon Craze" Dvds. Has anyone found a solution for this?

try to clean the lens of the DVD player you can buy the lens cleaner kit at your local electronics center or at radio shack .just insert the disk cleaner and play it on the machine...read on the cleaner instruction and follow it..if cd cleaning did not work you have to manually clean it with a cotton buds moistened with alcohol this process requires opening of the back cover...try first the 1st procedure and let me know how it goes good luck!

The dvd player says "incorrect

The DVD player is region locked and will only play DVDs from a particular region. The cheap DVDs are probably region 0 and so will work on any DVD player. You can scour the internet for a code hack to change the region (I've had a quick look and not found anything).

Sansui lcdvd200 some of my dvds work on this

Open your unit and clean the lens of your dvd using cotton bud. If that did no work, try to adjust the trimmer located at the pcb of the lens.. There are 2 trimmers whose function is to focus the alignment of the lens. Adjust the right trimmer minimal only using a mini plastic screw clockwise or counterclockwise direction. Be very careful when adjusting the trimmer. Too much adjustment may cause your dvd to not recognize all the discs that you will insert.

Try opening the dvd software prior to inserting the disk. Did you try a DVD that you see will work in another DVD player?

Comdo fail to read DVDs'

  1. Check its DVD reading speed
  2. Try reading a prerecorded or original DVD disk for a movie for example, if it can read this then it means the DVD you are tryng to read were burnt at speed faster than what your DVD can read.

My DVD-ROM cant read Video Files

Go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down the list for DVD/CDROM Drives, click it and your DVD drive will appear. Right click on it and delete. Restart PC and windows will find your DVD drive again and install it. Try a dvd again and see if it is working, if not it's time to buy a new one i'm afraid, but they are very cheap to replace.

Incorrect Disk Format Error Message

first of all, the DVD player is your input device, and that's where you should be posting. The TV is passive, it just displays an error message from the DVD, that can't read that specific Disk. Does it happen with every DVD, or with some? is there anything common with the DVDs that won't play? burnt? certain zone? A dirty lense can often cause problems like this. Opening the player and brushing dust off the lens is the only thing you can do yourself. Otherwise take it to the lab. Good luck
