one of the electrolytic capacitor's are bad so one of the boards that control the TV are bad there is a good possibly its fixable but if you feel you don't want to I will buy the broken Tv from you so please email me at [email protected]
This is a common problem with plasma tvs You did not mention whether you could generate any sound like through your dvd player or something like that. Whether you have audio or not makes a difference on which board may be causing you the problem. Just because it does not have a picture for tv viewing does not mean it won't produce some type of sound through your av1 input. Try it and I'll try to be more specific.
The display processor, and or the panel itself, and or one of the ribbon interconnects, may be the fault. This can be rather expensive to service. You can send the set to a Sony service center for a quotation. You may find it very expensive to service.
The black line indicates that either the flex cable that connects the panel to the buffer board has come loose or the panel is bad. Try to reseat the connector located inline with the symptom seen on the screen, if it's loose or inserted crooked, the panel will show this problem.
