My Genx flash memory shows light when I put it on my pc, but when i try to open it it says "the disk in drive f is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?". The I said yes. after a few minuntes a message is displayed saying " the disk in drive f cannot be formatted'. What can I do? I shows a contineous ligtht on the disk.

Try it on an other computer... if that fails, it might have developed bad sectors (spots) reformat and do a scan, which writes and reads all memory locations... might be corrupted and/or broken, but try another computer first to make sure it is not a driver issue.

This typically means the drive has gone bad. Try reformatting the USB drive. Some manufacturers also provide diagnostic/formatting tools on their website that might be able to fix it. But likely it will need replaced. Lucky 2GB USB drives now only run $7.99 or less.

Is the light on the genx 2gb usb illuminating??
If the usb port is NOT a 2.0→ it may NOT run.
* Try opening 'My computer' and searching for the usb drive there.
* advanced effort- try using 'Device manager' to see if your usb port is functioning porperly.

the most defalt of option is reinstal the driver and check in the Device Manager the usb you  have 3 usb root hub,1 enhanced pci to usb controler,update and try again,it should work. 

Does your phone itself have enough memory to store your videos. If so, put the card back into phone, create a folder in the phone memory and transfer the vids from card to phone. When done, put the card back into PC and format it (Quick Format if poss). When done, put it bach in phone and transfer vids back. Now put it in PC, it should read a card which it formatted itself! the problem is from your memory IC inside the Flash thats why refuses to format due to cold solder or some pins need fresh solder. so many times i fixed these kind of problem not only Genx.

If you dont care about the data then you can just erase it either by right clicking on the drive and going format / erase or right clicking on my computer --> manage --> disk management --> right click on F drive or the memory stick and then select format / erase
