I've got the same problem. Just wonder whether it would be the same solution for the AEG Favorit 80850.

hi i had the same p[roblem it was a leak from the heater causing a puddle underneath and then cutting out out i repaired it and all seems fine now

i did in the end had to replace the heater it cost 42 pound and was so easy to fit hope this helps you out

    Great! Thank you Sara! I
looked under the cover at the bottom of AEG Favorit Silence dishwasher and I found out, that there is polystyrene float. If the water gets into bottom tray, it rise up this float and thats the reason of error code. By tipping the machine you empty the tray and the problem is solved.

T o whom it may concern . Please bear this mind . When you tip the machine you certainly start to remove the water level . This will de activate the float .But it will happen again and again . If it would be of intent you pease mail me at [email protected] / I will send you pictures by which should you need to get an Tech . He would see immediately the problem,
I can also let you have the serial number of the part .
I am an engineer but not of Dishwashers.

AEG Favorit 40850 i30 error - this is the anti-flood error. I did the tipping-over trick, great, but for me, the problem got more and more frequent until the machine would not run. So I took it apart and this is what I found: in the drainage area, next to the water drain, is a sensor. This has been described to me by a dealer as a 'temperature sensor'. I am not sure if this controls the anti-flood system, it may well do, as it is the only one in there. However, the problem is not caused by the sensor itself - around the sensor is a black rubber grommet (seal). In my machine (4 years old) this was badly perished - the rubber had become soft and oily, and about half of it had gone. The sensor itself was covered in oily goo from the grommet. I think that bits of the grommet have been coming off and jamming in the drain, and maybe causing the sensor itself not to work properly. I changed the grommet (£5 part), and it all works great. If you want to do this yourself, follow these instructions:

  • turn off power and uplug dishwasher
  • you need a screwdriver with torx bits
  • put lots of old towels on the floor
  • remove top panel using 2 screws at rear top, then push top backwards and lift off
  • remove front base fascia panel by sliding to left
  • remove right side panel - undo 2 screws at top, one at rear bottom, one at front bottom
  • front edge of side panel is wedged inside white trim - just ease it out, it isn't held in.
  • open dishwasher door and push down fully
  • remove curved front base panel - undo screws right up at the top of the panel, this is a tight fit against the door but you can get in if the door is pushed down fully
  • tip dishwasher over onto left side
  • follow the drain pipe in, this takes you to the drain pump
  • if you want to check the drain pump and pipe, twist the whole pump motor assembly to the left about 15mm - there are 3 tabs that hold it in place, you need to rotate the motor past the tabs, then you can pull it out
  • DO NOT remove the spring clips on the large drain pipe (50mm diameter) between the pump motor and the dishwasher drain - these are very difficult to get back on properly, and once you have taken the pump motor off you can feel right through to the dishwasher drain hole anyway.
  • you can take the spring clip off the white oultet hose if you want - this goes back on easily. Check the outlet pipe with a long drain-clearing spring or similar.
  • about 50mm further towards the front of the machine from the drain hose, going around the drain assembly, is the sensor described above
  • this has wires going into into it, is about 25mm diameter, and you will see the black rubber grommet around it
  • this is held in place with 2 plastic clips, ease these back and pull it out. TAKE CARE not to break these clips.
  • If the grommet is heavily worn or perished, you need a new one. The part number is written on the surface of the grommet.
  • reassemble in reverse order. Before you put the panels back on, and with the power still OFF, tip the dishwasher back upright again, open the door, and pour 1 litre of water in (this will end up on your kitchen floor, so don't put too much in).
  • Check carefully under the machine, with a torch, around the areas where you have been working - the sensor and the drain pipes - to make sure there are no leaks.
  • If it all seems OK, dry the floor, turn the power on and run the dishwasher. MAKE SURE you are standing on dry floor when you do this. Check under the dishwasher again for leaks.
  • Let the dishwasher run a complete cycle. Check for leaks when it is pumping out.
  • If everything seems OK, turn the power off again, put the panels back on, then turn the power back on.
Good Luck!

Just had the same i30 problem - machine 7 years old. On my knees with the drain-hose side panel off and a cycle running, I was lucky to spot the odd very slow large drip from just out-of-view behind the main plastic drain. Wasn't a usual drip - more like an occasional, almost peristaltic, short but heavy squirt. Removed front trim below the door, ditto lower kick-plate (front legs have to come off) and the round, brown sensor (about 3 cms diameter) was right there in front. It's a turbidity sensor - something to do with determining cycle times. 10 seconds to unplug wires, spread retaining clips & remove. Part available from Electrolux (they bought rights to AEG brand yonks ago)
Just ordered replacement part for $60. Hopefully will solve the problem.
Many thanks for this thread. Hobartian.

Tip it over onto it's front & then back upright again, we just did, error 30 stopped, and machine is working again.

I have just had my i30 fault on my Ikea skinade dishwasher. Kept flooding underneath and triggering the switch. My machine is only a year old! Well dishwashers being of poor design I found that the hose to the wet detector sensor was blocked with diahwash grime. That was preventing the sensor from turning of the fill line and kept filling the washer with water till it was enough to get past the door seals and flood the underneath of the dishwasher! Sadly this isn't covered under warranty for me as I have moved country with my machine!

I did like it was suggested and it functioned! Can't believe it. Actually I tipped the machine over, but not till the end (very slightly). It was a bit water on the ground. I removed it and put the machine upright. Thanks a lot!

I have a AEG FAVORIT 7700 (ProClean XXL) and had this error code after someone ran the dishwasher with regular dish detergent instead of dishwasher tablets.

We tried cleaning out the filters and flushing the dishwasher with more water.

Nothing worked to resolve the issue until we followed the advice in this thread and tipped the dishwasher forwards about 45deg to let the water run out onto the floor. After this the dishwasher continued to work normally.

Hi everyone. I hate this troubleshoot since my problem bigger: my ikea kitchen makes the integrated machine not movable! I had this problem before when the machine was still under warranty, and didn't really pay attention when the repairman came (he didn't move the machine but press some buttons simultaneously to reset it, along with changing a little pipe as I recall). But now I wish I took notes... Another suggestions?

For some time, we have been experiencing error code I30 as well. as suggested above, removing the water by tilting the machine helped, but it never stopped water from pooring into the bottom plate. Today, I investigated very thoroughly where the water was coming from and i was astonisched.

I found several puntures (little holes) due to what looks like corrosion inside the machine in the area under the metal filter plate at the bottom. All around the edges of the removable filter it looked like the metal had been eaten away. Waybe this is because of the agressive chemicals used? I don't know. Anyway, the metal sheet that the inner housing is made of was extremely thin. About 0.2mm thick. I feel like this is way too thin to be solid and I am going to contact AEG about this.
As for the lot of you: instead of shaking your machine every time, do check also where the water is coming from! If your machine is still under guarantee, this is clearly a fabrication flaw and your machine should be replaced!

Wow! Can hardly believe it was so simple - thank you Sara. I also had error code 30 on an AEF F3A. Saved a large puddle by pumping the water out of the salt contauiner first - but I was fortunate, I had this little pump that fits on the end of a drill sitting in my garage having only been used once in 15 years!! If you don't have a pump a couple of extra towels is probably a better alternative than buying one! Simply tipped the dishwaher fowards on to its door - held it for a couple of seconds and put it back upright. SWitched it on and away it went

This solution rocks.
We moved to Germany a few months ago and brough our 40850 with us. Tonight I had a short power failout due to some work we did. The dishwasher gave code 30 after we resetted the power. Turning the dishwasher over to almost the end released water and was somehow working again.
Thanks all,
Hans Wolters Neuenhaus
