Sounds like a logic main board, but first check all the cables inside to make sure they all are seated good, price for the board and labor will probably run around $350.00

Lg r405 laptop screen flickering

most likely a loose connection if it is flickering.. if there are red squiggly lines usually means driver issue.. and if there are blue banding lines, typically means the chip is overheating/desoldering.

I have a LGR410 laptop the monitor screen flickers and theres a line at the buttom screen..

Well the flickering can be a loose connection which could be correct but unfortunately if you have a line across your screen. Example a red thin line that goes from one side to the other. That's not good. That would mean the LCD itself is bad. Would need to be replaced.

If your laptop is out of warranty, you can find them on Ebay sometimes but they can be expensive. Depends on how old the laptop is and whether it's worth it to you to drop the coin on it and go through the replacement process.

Slight convergence problem after changing convergence circuits

My experience has been that the resistors have fallen out of range. These aren't expensive and neither are the caps that surround this area. If you're pulling the board out to change the resistors, might as well change the caps, too. If you're strapped for cash, but have a multi-meter, you can test the caps and the resistors after they've been taken out of circuit to save a little green. Let me know if you need any help testing them; I'd be glad to help.

Thin vertical lines

Those lines are called retrace lines. They are there all the time on projection TVs but you should be able to see them. When you do see them, that's an indication that the kine screen settings are too high or the supply voltage to the kine driver circuit is low or missing. There is a small, black control unit located behind the speaker grill assy in the front of the TV that has 2 sets of 3 controls. A red, blue, and green focus and screen controls. See if you can make the lines dissappear by turning the screen controls counterclockwise. If you can't you'll need to have service come out to troubleshoot it.

57" Toshiba with wavy green/red lines "good overall picture"

Appears to be a convergence problem, the chips are located on large aluminum heat sinks. Check near the 2 or 3, STK IC's for + and - voltage usually 20 to 25vdc. If 1 or both are missing, check microfuses. They should both be close to equal in voltage reading, if not, turn set off after it has been on for 10 minutes, feel the heat sinks at each IC,if one is hotter than the other, replace both IC's or all 3 if it has them. Now check the small low ohmage resisters in and around the STK IC's and you will most likely find a few burnt or discolored and have changed in value, replace these or the new chips installed will self destruct.

Hitachi Rear Projection TV Flickers Red

No, this could mean a loose connection on crt board(red of course) Look also and check to see if lines going to board are connected correctly. If nothing, then there could be something trying to short itself out on crt board. look for burnt resistors and bad capacitors.
