Simple , i was a sears installer for 10 years installing garage door openers so your in luck , just locate the smart button on the machine ,it would be on the back or if your looking from the back at the back ,it could also be on the right side depending on if the machine is a sideways mounted machine or frontmount, after locating this button which maybe green/orange /or purple in color also depending on your model ,the newest sears machines are purple buttons ,and 5 years ago they were orange and the older ones would be green ,...ok so after you,ve located it just push it once and you will see a solid yellow indicator light come on , now go over to the keypad and put your 4 digit personal code in after that press the enter button AND HOLD IT for around 3 seconds , at that time you will see the lightbulbs on the machine go off and then click back on , and THAT,S IT! plain and simple , now go proramm your remote! hope i was of help to you , and if i was leave me a nice rating Sincerely Glenn mayer

what if your button is gray, Glenn Mayer? I have a liftmaster professional garage door opener.
I need to reset our wireless keypad after I held the button down and erased all our codes. The previous owner of our home did not leave any remotes for our garage.

I don't know what a "back lite controller" is but I think you are talking about a wireless keypad. If you are sure the battery in the keypad is good then it has just failed.

Programing garage door opener

Hold the button on the remote and press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Do this for each of your remotes.

For the keypad press and immediately release the smart/learn button. Walk over to your keypad and key in your 4 digit code and press enter.

If these instructions don't work you have a bad logic board.

Our craftsman garage door opener's wireless keypad is broken

It sounds like the default no code is still there.

Reset the unitat the opener itself and reload your code from the remote.

Need to change current code on my garage door opener. Don"t have

If you are trying to change the code of your remotes the answer is you can't. If you erase the code by holding in the smart/learn button and the reprogram your opener you are putting the same codes in that were there before.

Liftmaster problems with the wireless keypad...

If you reset your code by pressing the smart/learn button and then keying in your code and pressing enter and it still doesn't work it has just quit on you. Make sure if you replace it you get the same model number.
