Hello,
I borrowed a DVD camcorder to record my daughters 1st competetion at Disney World. I took the camcorder into my local electronic store so they would help me pick out the right DVD to record on.
So, I recorded on two DVD-R's (TDK dvd-r 2x - 1.4gb)and now they will not play (nor read) on my laptop, my desk top, nor my dvd player. Before I had to return the camcorder I was able to see that there were thumbnails of video I had recorded.
I don't know why they wont appear on any of the three things I tried, but I am so scared that I wont have my daughters first competetion recorded.
Can you please please help?

Break out the manual for the camera, there is probably a "finish" or finalize procedure that needs to be run before the disk can be read by anything else.

This tv/dvd combo is a NTSC DVD disc region only.Only read DVD disc from US,Canada or Mexico only sorry.Can not changes it to mutiple region to read PAL DVD disc in Europe,Asia,Middle East or Africa.Must buy a region free DVD player to play all the world DVD disc regions.
I would suspect dirt, either on the disc itself or in the player. The discs and laser head need to be clean to do their job properly. If they are too dirty to operate correctly the machine simply gives up trying as though there were no disc loaded at all.
11/12/08 My 18 yo daughter took her Disney "Ramon" dvd player she received at Christmas yo college with her and I used the code a moment ago <play> 1234 <play> and it unlocked it for her immediately.... try it it might work for you as well! Good Luck!
Make you finalized the video before you took it our of the camera. Finalizing the DVD will work on other devices otherwise your DVD disk will not be recognized until you finalize it.
