Sony pfm42b2 plasma tv

Hello, I am having a problem with the display flickering on start up. Kind of like a vertical hold problem on the old sets. The colors seem to change until the set is warmed up. It seems to be taking longer and longer for this problem to clear.About 15 minutes. It is more than likely a board problem?? I was told that any one of the boards cost was about 500.00 or more. Because it is an older set i didn't want to put to much into it. I was hoping that maybe it was something that happens on all pfm42b2 sets and had an easy fix. Any help would be great. Thanks much Larry D

Call Sony at 1-877-650-3477 and tell them what happened. they SHOULD send a shipper to your doorstep free of charge to come pick it up and take it sony, where they should fix it free of charge, because this is a MFR defect that has happened to hundreds of this model. Trust me, I know I just did it yesterday :)

Flicker screen

If any buffer board is faulty, this kind of fault can occur. Might have a panel fault too. It will be best to contact any service technician, to make it confirm. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

My ten year old sony plasma tv has vertical herring bone lines no picture just color lines. Is my picture tube gone.

If its 10 years old boards and or parts will likely not be available--average life on Plasma and LCD sets is 3-5 years.

I would retire it--recycle it and buy a new set.

Rear projection tv colors flickering

Two types or more of sets: regular TV sets with a picture Tube, big rear projection sets, Plasma, LCD, DLP

A model number would allow me to give you the answer--I suspect you have a set with a picture tube(regular tv)

Let me know which so I can try to give correct answer.

My tv still has sound but the picture has went. It is displaying flickering vertical colour bands. Can this be fixed?

Hello,

Yes the problem can be fixed.

The problem is from the t-com board of your television. Have it replaced and your television will be in good condition once again.

Take care

Green vertical line on videocon 42inch plasma tv

Hello Depending how wide the line is their could be two possible causes.
I have two questions for you.
1. How wide is the line.
2. Does it run from top of screen to bottom of screen?
If the line is thin a single strait line then it is possible the PDP has gone Bad (Panel). (Screen). The screen will to be replaced.
If the line is at least 2 or more inches wide then its a buffer board which can be replaced. LG calls this board Hand insert Boards or display driver boards..

Parallel vertical lines through left side of Panasonic Plasma tv

This sounds like one of the driver boards at the bottom or top of the screen has an intermittent fault. The set will have to be taken in to a service centre.

No picture, sound works. Screen flickering

It sounds like the video output isn't
working its most likely a component
failure 1 thing you could try is connecting
a rca cables from video/audio out on the set to
another set vid/audio inputs to see if it the video gets
through. This is a problem that requires technical
knowledge and test equipment to trace the video
