Question about Epson Stylus Photo R200 InkJet Printer

Paper loading problem

I rarely use my R200 for printing, and mainly use it for printing CDs. I am having trouble getting paper to load. I may get one or two pages to print and then it flashes and stops indicating that the paper isn't loaded correctly. I have tried taking the paper out and putting it back in (several times) have tried putting in more or less paper (several times) but more often than not it will not load the paper. I've used plain paper, heavier card stock and photo paper. It might print the heavier or photo paper, but usually won't (pity it's a photo printer). Plain paper seems to work. Any suggestions much appreciated before I take a hammer to it. tia ddjjj

The print heads are blocked and normally this means the end for the printer, but i have heard of a solvent cleaning cartridge that may unblock the nozzles, but it is rare especially with the cost of inks and printers being so cheap today. Try googling the solvent cartridge.

  5. Specify Staple Side.
    1. The printer analyzes the Orientation and Page Layout settings, and automatically selects the best staple position.
    2. Click the Staple Side drop-down arrow and select the setting. If you want to change the setting, select another value from the list.
    3. If necessary, click Specify Margin... and set the Margin width

If Photo Paper Plus Double Sided is selected for Media Type on the Main tab:
The document will be printed front and back alternately for one sheet at a time, when printing starts. Load the paper according to the displayed messages.

  7. You will be prompted, while printing, to remove the printed page and reload it in the ASF.

Paper loading tips:
● Load paper with the side to be printed facing down.
● You can print photos and documents on a wide variety of paper sizes, from
8 x 13 cm (3 x 5 inch) up to 22 x 61 cm (8.5 x 24 inch). The 10 x 15 cm
(4 x 6 inch) photo paper is available with and without tabs.
● Before loading paper, pull the Main paper tray out (use the Main tray release or
the tray grips) and slide out the paper-width and paper-length guides to make
room for the paper. After loading paper, adjust the guides to fit close to the edges
of the paper without bending the paper. When finished loading paper, push the

● Load only one type and size of paper at a time in the same tray.

Brown spots appear on the right of prints

I finally fixed it by printing in glossy mode on a thick and rough paper used for manual drawings. A bit of dust came off from under the print head and now it prints clean again.

How is 4" x 6" paper loaded?

There are settings that should allow you to specify the page size usually in the printer program that is installed on your computer as well as if you were using your printer as a stand alone device ,it will not be a problem with your Mac or printer but perhaps the instruction menu not been user friendly , I suggest you look at your printer settings in trouble shooting under paper loading etc or paper size as even the very cheap printers allow for smaller paper sizes even envelopes .You might try the print preview which should let make changes if need be .
