I can't get my iLO-2600 to completely work as a monitor.
I hooked up the cord, changed the settings according to the manual, but no icons or pages will show on the tv. The background shows and if I change background, the new background will appear. Also, when I test to see which computer is which a large number 2 will display on the tv and a number 1 on the laptop. One more thing, the screen saver will display when it kicks in.
Please note that this was the first time I've tried to connect my tv to my laptop. This is NOT a problem of once having it working and then it suddenly stopped.
Thank you so much for any advice or help!
The TV will always show as screen number 2 because the laptop screen will be found first. I use mine as a monitor for my Desktop.. However, for the picture to show what your laptop does you have to clone your desktop. The button should be where your screen properties are located.

You would need a converter to make it work. Adapters won't work as the type of signal would need to be changes. Your best bet would be to purchase a DVD player that has outputs that work with the tv. Sorry.
The plug is the same plug that powers your desktop pc or monitor. I do not know if Radio Shack carries it but you will find it on E-bay. Type "pc power cord" when searching. I know this because I have same unit and my PC power cord are interchageable. Hope this helps.
It may say HD on it but it may be a HD READY set, not a full HD FORMAT.
If it has componet inputs on it,( green, red, blue, and two audio inputs), you can use
them and still recieve HD. If it does not have componet or HDMI inputs on it , it is not a HD set
Hope this helps,
The only thing that comes to mind is a similar, but not exact problem I recently had. If you're using cable try to change out the cord and/or the splitter with a higher grade. You can check to see if either of these is the problem by hooking the tv up to the original cord coming into the house. If the line disappears you know it's somewhere in the connections.
