Television Displays full video and sound for 5-10 minutes after which the picture zaps out into the middle and the screen blank. The sound operates normally afterwards but no picture. When you turn the TV off and on the picture comes back but problem persists. Heard this could possibly be a comb filter prob? I work in electronic but not TV's so I am unfamiliar with the some particulars of this cuircuit. Sounds like something is overloading and shutting down.
You may have a loose solder joint causing this problem. If you can take it apart, you mihgt try spraying circuit cooler in various parts of the circuit but NOT in the high voltage or horizontal circuits.YOU MAY CAUSE AN ARC OR A COMPONENT TO SHORT SINCE THE SET HAS TO BE IN OPERATION WHEN YOU SPRAY. If you hit the bad connection the picture will come back on. When the picture zaps to the middle of the screen, is there just a bright line? If so, then you have a loose connection or a temperature problem in the vertical circuit. Stargazer
