Most likely in need of professional repair. It is actually a common problem with Motorola radios with the 2 pin audio jack. The jack may be broken, cracked or loose. NOT user repairable. It may be intermittent. It could be the speaker, or any number of things that are speaker involved. We've repaired 100's of these. User manual is about worthless, shop manual is invaluable if you can read one. You would still need to buy the parts. Could also be a broken housing, the housing holds the speaker to the contacts, the list goes on....

Your radio is in need of repair. Typically you can find flat rate repair for the CP200 style radio for around $85. You may have a bad speaker, or other internal issue.

Best regards.

SOURCE: my customer has 6 motorola max trac vhf radios.

If this is a new install, it is likely noise from the vehicles electrical system scrambling the processor of the radio. Put a filter on the power leads and check your install.

SOURCE: Can Receive but not Transmit

1) Double check your interference code eliminator and the Qt filter. Make certain they are all set identical.

2) If you are still having trouble, shut off the Qt filter.

3) Then if you still have trouble shut off the code. (Off is sometimes "zero" or "n" for no.)

4) If the above steps do not help you have either a defective radio, or a bad battery. Switch the batteries out of the working units to the non-working and see if the problem switches to the other units. If so, replace the battery packs. (Note: it takes more battery power to transmit, so the problem would first show up in the transmit area.)

Best regards.

This is called feedback. The audio output from the other radio is feeding back through your microphone. Turn the volume down on the radio at a comfortable listening level, and do not transmit when in close proximity. If they can hear you speak, you do not need to transmit.

Can't transmit signal. Only get a 2 second beep when I push the transmit button

You have a poorly charged or bad battery. It takes more power to transmit than to receive. Usually the first thing you lose with a low, bad or poorly charged battery is transmit.

Try a known good battery in the radio. This should solve the problem. If not, check your battery contacts, as you may have one which is bad or not making good contact.

Clean your contacts with a pencil eraser to assure good connection with the charger.

Best regards.

I have a motorola cp 110 walki talkie .red light comes on but no beep or commuunication

If you have no initialization beep when you turn the radio on, it is likely the radio is in need of repair. Immediate things which come to mind are a sticking PTT button, something stuck in audio accessory jack, or a bad speaker. You might check the radio using a second radio and see if you can transmit.

best regards.

Cobra 29LTD CHROME low tx no mod, rx good low Vol, talkback good

1 why would you change the finals?? Have you checked you antenna? How are your SWR's? Crappy antenna's cause a lot of problems.

Use an external meter to see what the SWR is, and see what the output is PEP. If its low, then there is something wrong. If it is High, change the mic and turn up the dynamic all the way.

Next. Have you been messing around in there?? Tryin to get more wattage? You turned VR4? If you thought you were turning it up by turning it all the way to the right, you turned it all the way down. Turn it all the way to the left.

How do you go to silent mode?

There are two different kinds of beeps you can control, the "roger" beep and the "button" beeps. Below is an excerpt from the owners manual explaining the simple procedure.

“Roger” Beeps/Talk Confirmation Tone
When you turn this feature On, your two-way radio transmits a unique tone when
you finish transmitting. It’s like saying “Roger” or “Over” and lets others know
you have finished talking. If the person you are talking to does not hear the talk
confirmation tone, you can enable it by pressing and holding + (plus) as you turn On
your radio. Now, whenever you release the PTT, you let your friends know you have
finished talking by transmitting a “Roger” Beep tone. “Roger” Beeps will be
disabled as the Default Setting.
Note: To toggle the Talk Confirmation Tone feature, turn your radio Off and then
back On while pressing and holding + (plus) .

Button Beeps
Every time you press a button on the front of your radio, it beeps unless you turn
Button Beeps Off. To turn Button Beeps Off, turn your radio On while you press - (minus) and
hold . To turn Button Beeps back On, turn the radio Off and then back On again
while you press and hold the - (minus) . On is the Default setting.

Kenwood TK370N UHF FM HANDHELD RADIO

By keeping the PTT button pushed, if you get a rapid beep and the red led is blinking, sounds like a bad battery. Batt voltage is a nominal 7.5v. anything lower than 6.25v and the low battery beep starts. A rapid beep, and no red led blinking, an error in the transmit freq.

My galaxy 959 cb radio wil not put out any transmit

Hi,

Based on your post of no transmit, a couple of possibilities:
1. defective microphone or cord or PTT switch (the red TX light does not come on when pressed);
2. TX light comes on but no output, defective finals and/or drivers. These are the transistors screwed to the chassis of the radio very near the antenna terminal;
3. defective regulator IC that provides the TX B+;
5. insufficient amperage from you power supply;
6. too high SWR.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
