I have the same problem with my samsung r530, it was dropped screen broke, replaced screen now when I turn it on it has a siren noise while loading then goes to black screen that says ahci cd-rom operating syste not found. guessing it needs a new hard drive, if that is the case, can I still get any files off the old hard drive?

Maybe the cpu fan is fubar - check that out.

You need "New Miracle Cure Wiper Cloth".


One wipe across you LCD screen, and it will look like,............well......................................a Hershey bar rubbed across it.



Check to see if you pulled the Video Cable loose, or damaged it.
Past this point replace the LCD screen.

Remove the HDD and test, replace if necessary. You can contact Samsung, with your laptop Serial Number, and purchase a Factory Recovery DVD. Or, you can buy a Windows Installation DVD and do a Fresh install on the new HDD.

i have had one of these myself... this pc suffers from various problems, mostly motherboard. Your specific problem has happened to a couple of friends, both filled their drives up so much that it "blue screened" We all know blue screen is often terminal. Your machine is getting on now. clear your drive up from DOS and windows ( delete unneeded files at start up, not through windows if possible.

Unplug it, remove battery, hold power button 10 full seconds, reinstall battery, plug in and turn on. It should work fine now. If not, memory stick is likely bad.

Laptops do not fair well if liquid was spilt, and it does not take much. Remove main battery and turn on, if okay! battery needs to be replaced, next remove ram one at a time and power up making sure you always have one in the laptop, last! hook a spare monitor to the video output usually on the back, if okay! the LCD on the laptop has a bad inverter board, or defective backlight behind the LCD. Now if both show the same symptom it is the Video Graphics Card usually built into the motherboard.

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery dropsoff to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
