We have an old Lexmark X73 that I want to install for the scanner features, however, we have lost the install CD. Is there another way to install this software on my computer?

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X73 printer driver on your computer. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation. I hope this helps.
Having a X73 myself, it uses a transformer to reduce the voltage, the output on this transformer is (from memory) around 30 volts DC, about 1.5 amps (1500 milliamps) output. Let me know if your machine had a transformer also, as I am in Australia I do not know what your power requirements are. I can advise as to further details if needed as I believe some OLD HP transformers are/were similar in voltage output. Send e-mail with X73 in heading to [email protected], that way I know you are keenly interested in follow up, I can check further then.
