Question about Logitech X-230 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Hello, My logitech x-230 2.1 speaker system is not producing any sound. The power light comes on but no sound at all comes from any speaker. Also, it is not the computers fault because I have used it with other speaker systems and its works fine. Any suggestions on what might be wrong? Thank you!

I tried l plugging in headphones into the headphone jack on the satellite speaker and nothing came through which makes me think the cords are bad, is there any way to replace these? or could it be a blown fuse/amp?

If there is an ON/OFF switch at the back of your 2.1 speakers, then switch it on. Or is the VOLUME control set at 0? Turn it up a bit.

Or, are the left & right speakers properly hooked to the subwoofer unit?
Please check.

There is no on/off switch on the back it is on the front of one of the satellite speakers. I have it on and the volume is about half way up. The speakers are connected to the right spot on the sub and all the wires appear to be in good condition. Im stumped as to what else I can do. Thanks!

SOURCE: Logitech x 230 speakers "dead"

Razor Your correct, you will have to open it up however which may void a warranty depending on how long you have had it. It is possible the converter went bad, this happens in these. If this is the case Logitech is really good on replacement and price{ if you even have to pay} The link below is a test link you can try and also a Logitech forum with Logy employees that are really good with help and support. http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2913&p_created=1125714076 Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Connect DVD Player to logitech X 540 Surround System

Bad connection on that one speaker, if you have tested the system with other equipment and it works thn you MUST have a bad connection INSIDE you DVD player. If your DVD had a whole channel out on your output amplifier I beleive then 2 speakers would not work so more than likely you have a bad solder joint inside system for DVD output

Hello, my X-230 doesnt work, the power is on, the green LED light is on , but no sound, left the speaker with volume control died a few months ago, but now the other speaker and sub doesnt work too, any...

I suspect that the jack on the computer may have failed or the end of the cable that you jack in has failed. The green light indicates that power is getting to the speakers but not the sound signal. You can try repairing the cable jack prong by splicing another similar jack prong from Radio Shack, but the jack face on the mother board is a more difficult job. If you had another set of speakers you could try jacking them in to see if they operate, thus eliminating the mother board jack.

What is the specific power transformer (internal) i need to switch my logitech 230 speakers from 220v to 110v?

If the speakers are wanting 220V, will they work, at a diminished level, if you only supply 110V ?

Otherwise, you need a "step-up" transformer, which takes 110V input, and produces 220V as output.

Do the speakers have a "110V/220V" switch on them????

Speaker power control

If unplugging it did not stop the sound, you have invented a way of producing energy at ZERO cost -- patent the idea, and you could become a billionaire.

X-230 logitech.....

For these speakers, the headphone jack is controlled by your sound card. The volume can be adjusted by using the Mixer application in your operating system.

My computer have no sound drivers

Hello there
For your speakers to work, my friend, you need a sound card, it could be a external USB sound card, (turtle beach) or internal Creative Labs, PCI card. "time to buy new gallet!"
so start buying a new sound card.
good luck!

No sound

Sounds like you have missed the wire which connects them to your pc (or to each other)

One speaker works only

As long as the jack you are using fits snug into the port, they will be the right size. I am sure that they are the same size. As for the jack port, some can be finicky like that. It is more than likely your sound card that is at fault. You can check the connection on your card by removing it with the computer off and inspect it for a loose connection within the jack port and around it. Plug in the speakers slowly and see where it is not contacting. Some do it yourselfers can fix this by replacing the port or re soldering a bad connection
