Check the product name that it is typed correctly. If it doesn't work, select one of the listed products and see whether it matches your Laptop.

    Are the display bands compatible?

    1) Toshiba Satellite P300-13j LCD screen example,

    http://www.screentekinc.com/Toshiba_Satellite_P300D-13J--17-inch--1440x900-wxgaplus-laptop-lcd-screen.shtml

Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Active Matrix LCD screen, that is WXGA, and uses one CCFL for a Backlight.

    2) http://www.lcds4less.com/ToshibaLaptop__Toshiba_Satellite_P300D-12L__laptop-screens.html

Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Active Matrix LCD screen, that is WXGA, and has 1 CCFL for a Backlight.

There is a pretty good chance. The screen Inverter and LCD screen are a matched unit. I would remove the screen Inverter from the P300-12L, and use it also.

    Looks like this,

    http://www.lcd-inverter-shop.com/Toshiba/Toshiba-Satellite-P300D.html

    If I may ask;
    1) Is there obvious damage to the LCD screen?

    2) If there is not obvious damage to the LCD screen, have you used an external VGA monitor with the laptop?

To see if the problem is the graphics chipset, or the video cable, or inside the Display Assembly.

    [Primer:
An LCD screen cannot produce light by itself,
    (Click on the monitor icon,

    http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/NA_Optical/Systems/BehindTheScenes/Optics101/ )

It needs an additional light source. A Backlight is the additional light source.
A Backlight can be a CCFL, (Or two of them), or a series of LED's.

LED stands for Light Emitting Diode

CCFL stands for Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp.
Similar to Fluorescent lighting used in homes, and businesses, but on a MUCH smaller scale.

Average thickness is 2mm. That is a little larger than 1/16th of an Inch.
Average length is almost as long, as the LCD screen is in height.

    http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/12/09/replace-laptop-backlight-ccfl-lamp/

Observe the last 8 photos especially. This article shows you that the LCD screen is an assembly. It is composed of layers. Just like the 3M company's tutorial. Also shows general instructions for replacing a Backlight.

A screen Inverter is used to convert the power from the laptop, for the LCD screen, and Backlight.
It is a small circuit board, and is usually mounted towards the bottom of the LCD screen, and behind the Display Bezel.

A CCFL, (Or two of them), uses a screen Inverter.
LED backlighting however, may or may not use a screen Inverter.

Using LED's for backlighting is relatively new, when discussing backlighting technology.
Some of the first designs of LED backlighting does use a screen Inverter.
Newer designs do not seem to.

90 PERCENT OF THE TIME the problem can be attributed to a bad screen Inverter.

I have problem reinstalling magix edit pro 17 because after removing and now reinstalling the problem of...... ENU(USA) 10.0.0.0 "the installation is not possible because the following related...

Maybe a file in the usual program or configuration directory was locked by another program (e.g. antivirus scans) when you were removing the old edition of Magix Edit Pro; that would leave directories like /Programs/Magix and /Data/Programs/Magix and possibly registry entries (call up RegEdit and delete (or export and then delete) the old items pertaining to Magix or EditPro) around blocking 17 from coming in. Just rename those vestigial directories so they won't be in the install's way. Then retry and report...success?

    L555-s7001 usb ports not working

It appears you have a Vista operating system on your Toshiba laptop.

Click on "Control Panel", on the next screen, click on "Device Manager".

That will open a window with a list of all the hardware in your computer.
Open the very bottom device which will be the USB's
Make sure that there are no "Question" (?) marks in from of the USB's devices.

If so then it may be that your "Chipset" for your model is not installed
or may be missing or corrupted.

Please go to the link below at Toshiba's support site, that page will have
the "chipset" needed on a list to be downloaded and installed, please follow the prompts.

    I have a 17" Gem

    Hello,
You shouldn't need to install software for a monitor to work. What you may have to do though, is configure your display settings to allow an external display. Your laptop might have a function key to do this. Try clicking the function key + the key that looks like a monitor display on your laptops keyboard. This should activate the external display port. You might also try going into the control panel, select display and enable the secondary display. Also a 17 inch display probably has a screen resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x1024 so make sure you don't set the resolution any higher then that or the display might not show anything.

This is a problem I recently went through also, on my Dell Inspirion 1420. What you should do is replace the battery of the laptop, that fixed it for me. Laptop batteries are easy to find and replace, and you almost never have to open up a laptop to replace the battery. Generally you can find the battery on the bottom of the laptop, near the part where the monitor meets the main body of the laptop. Unfortunately, laptop batteries aren't very cheap, usually $50-$100, but I quick searched a replacement battery and found one for $35 for the Toshiba L555 series here, pretty hard to beat, and from a trusted seller too.

    Lcd invertor

    Hi,

If you are referring to an LCD inverter, this is a an electronic device that converts a low voltage DC into a high frequency high voltage AC. This output then feeds the Cold Cathode Florescent lamps (CCF) which in turn provides the necessary backlight to the LCD panel display. Most inverters are also coupled to a logic circuitry that triggers them OFF during video mute, sleep, hibernation. They can also be designed to supply multiple CCF lamps for LCD display that are 17" or bigger.
Most inverters are OEM products and it would not be surprising to find a Samsung inverter in a Toshiba LCD display.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

    Good luck and kind regards.

    Thank you for using FixYa.
