Question about RCA HD52W56 52" Rear Projection HDTV
My tv, when i press the power button on the tv front panel, or on the remote, will turn on for a second, turn off, turn back on, turn off, turn back on, and then turn off again. All of which happens with a 10 second period. Now I have no tv repair experience, so I wouldnt even know how to fix the problem once its been pointed out. But if I knew what the problem was, then I can very easily call around and ask how much it would cost to get that problem fixed. So if anyone knows what could be wrong, please please please please, let me know. Thank you
Its nothing to do with the remote, as the tv wont even turn on by the power button on the front panel access, I appreciate the thought of you trying to help! Also my cable remote is not programed with the tv, we have no reason to us it for the tv, as we programed it for our surround sound system, so we control the volume for it.

Check for the proper code for the remote. I presume you have either a cable or satelite box and you have set the remote according to the manual. I have had a similar problem with a flat screen LCD television from COSTCO and the remote control would set the "sleep" control at random. We would be in the middle of a program and zap. I had them replace 3 units, talked to the manufacturer and they said they were awaiting the proper codes from China. Bought a name brand TV from Future Shop....no problems since then. Same Satelite unit and remote. DGT

2 Press CH UP button on the remote control or on the TV front panel to start Auto Program, or press CH DOWN button to Exit.
When you start autoprogramme, wait until it is finished; otherwise it will skip over channels that are available. If it happens so, perform autoprogram again by turning on the power button.
The initial set up screen appears each time you turn on TV until you perform auto program.
To perform Auto Program again
1 Press "Menu" button.
2 Press"=>"to highlight Channel Menu.
3 Press "Down arrow button" to highlight Cable. Press "+" button to select.
4 Press "Up Arrow button" or 'Down arrow button"to highlight On or Off according to how you connected your TV. Press "+" to select.
5 Press "Down arrow button" to highlight Auto Program. Press [+] to search for channels
6 After Auto Program finishes press "Menu button" to exit.
To reset the TV to factory settings
1 Turn the TV on.
2 Hold down [Reset key] on the remote control.
3 Press and release the POWER button on the TV front panel. The TV will turn itself off,
then back on.
4 Release [Reset] key.
Ok.
