I bought this second hand and has worked well for about a year, I see it has 6/99 printed on the back so I guess this means it was made in 1999. Now more and more I turn it on and then when I hold the button down to lazer a target it turns off instead of giving me a reading. Once it starts doing that then you have to leave it quite some time and it seems to work again for a couple of go's????
SOURCE: inaccurate yardages
Hmm your Bushnell has one year warranty send it back to company under warranty for repair.
SOURCE: No yardage displayed
The rangefinder is out of alignment. Vibration, dropping these units make small mirrors inside move slightly. Over time the receiver cannot see what the transmitter puts out. Bushnell can fix, 4-5 weeks w/o unit.
Bushnell will honor the warranty if the unit doesn't look like its been dropped. The warranty on these units is two years. If everything is kosher....then sent it in. They will replace it with a new one. You can go to their website and get all the service center info. They will ask that you send in 10 bucks for return shipping.

SOURCE: battery changed but wont give yardage reading
I see this happen to units that are 7+ years old. Sometimes when the battery is allowed to die inside the rangefinder this erases the programming. If the unit is this old its probably been discontinued and no parts are available. They will offer you a newer rangefinder at 30-40% discount. Call them....800.423.3537 and see.

Try this:
Switch ignition OFF
Press and Hold left instrument panel reset button, switch ignition ON to position 1
Keep reset button pressed for approximately 5 seconds until the LCD displays "RESET SIA".
The distance to service and the service type " Inspection" will be displayed.
To reset distance the left hand button should be pressed before the 'RESET' message has
flashed 5 times. The LCD will display 'END SIA'. Switch ignition off
The timing to do this is must be about 5 seconds, if this is not working you can try again.
I have a Range Rover 2005 and it worked for me.
