Main oven suddenly stopped heating this evening. Tripped the RCD on the consumer panel, but when RCD reset the power returned but would not heat up. Power to the unit is ok; Lights works, main oven fan works, top oven works but main oven will not heat. I am guessing that it is the element that has blown, but is it likely to be anything else? Thanks for your help. Paul.
SOURCE: No heat generated in lower oven
You are quite correct in saying that the element has failed.
As regards the wattage , it should be stamped on the fixing plate of the element, if you cannot see it there then opt for the lower wattage one, it will not make much difference to the oven ,as there is only100watt difference between the 2., and that is nothing to worry about.
Plz rate my solution to your prob.
Thanks.
SOURCE: Oven has stopped working
The main oven element has failed, you need to fit a new element.
If you remove the rear cover in the oven , you will see the element.
Disconnect and replace. Be care ful not to lose the wires behind the aperture.

SOURCE: no heat in main oven, fan is working ok as is top
You need to replace the oven element.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.

If the oven is heating up o/k, then I would suggest that the oven pilot bulb has failed, I have come across this on several occasions, it usually just means replacing the oven pilot light.
